I'm still waiting, guys. This is the 12th Jackalope beer I've had, and I am not getting the impression that you have true greatness in you. I have tried enough, I think. Well, I'm giving you another shot, but you're not trending in the right direction so far. If you have the ability to hit a perfect 5.0/5, do me a favor and put it in a bottle and send the sucker out.
The very golden beer has a slight haze to it and a head that other beers should attempt to emulate. The head is nice and thick, but it doesn't come out so violently that I have to stop pouring and search for a paper towel. The sticky, patchy cap leaves droves of lacing in its wake. The aroma is dough malt over light tropical hops, and it's more inviting than surprising.First sip is more of a heavy, bread dough malt with crispy crust than anything, and what I thought was tropical is light citrus hops. They are all but getting lost to the malt, though, and that is just fine by me. Pine hops, though, drag along the back of the throat, and that's just from a sip - this may not go well in the swig, but it is a necessary part of the process.
Tip-in is light carbonation in what can only be described as a smooth pine and bread mix. The middle arrives with pine shoved to the top with carbonation sizzle added to disrupt the smoothness that had started. The finish is bitter pine that runs itself into the trail off.
Bottom Line: If you like pine, you may overlook the harshness.
