Legend says that the Green Man is an avatar for the earth queen Gaia. He finds those who have wronged or hurt the mother earth and exacts her revenge upon them in bloody ways that serve as a warning for those who would tempt fate in the future. Is this story real? Did I just make it up? Who really knows what "truth" really is?
First sip is exceptionally nice at first, but the bitterness mixed with tart for the back half is a bit unsettling. This has the bearing of a beer that will not get better as it gets warmth. I think cold is this beer's friend. It's not "stick the rocky mountains on the side, and if they aren't blue, the beer is going to be crap" kind of needing cold, but the unchecked bitterness is clearly not going to help this beer out much.
Tip-in is sweet orange, tangerine, and mango with nary a bubble of carbonation to its name. The middle brings a hint of tartness with a rise in carbonation while the fruits enjoy their romp through rinds and fruit meat. The finish is bitter encroachment into an otherwise enjoyable experience, but the tart mixed with the bitter evicts the fruits and leave the mouth wanting.
Bottom Line: Room for improvement.
