Can anyone come up with a 0% ABV beer that is any good? The best I've had so far (and I admittedly have not had that many) was the Intentional IPA, and that was at the low end of average, just barely above not great. Honestly, that is a darn good achievement for an alcohol-free beer, but it's not where you want to wind up. Wellbeing had a hand in that beer, so let's give them another go.
First sip reveals a musty, dusty bread dough with spikes of flowers in it. I'm not going to lie: this isn't good. They decided to take something as demure as an amber and infuse it with SO MUCH beer-y taste that you would forget that it was a beer wearing no clothes. The problem is that these are the funhouse tastes of a beer.
Tip-in is moderate carbonation burn with caramel sweetness and a nuttiness mixed with light pine. The middle gets characteristically watery, but a bitterness seeps in with flowers and pine and a sourdough. The finish is a bitter swell of off-putting grains and musk.
Bottom Line: Still looking for one of these to be a hit.
