The 17% ABV that this sports seems almost like it is manufactured to be the same as the other Baileys beverages I've already looked at. Don't get me wrong, if this beverage matches the other two Irish creams that I've had from them so far, I certainly don't mind them plagiarizing from the best. I don't know what the precipitating event was to have caused these liquor makers to decide that flavored creams was the path they wanted to go down, but so far it's worked out pretty well for me.
First sip is not the chocolate covered cherry that I expected. It has a very synthetic taste while cherries are more in the form of a cherry sauce that is significantly too sweet for the beverage that it is in. I think the problem is that this started off as a very sweet beverage to begin with, and adding more sweetness is to its detriment. The balance of the beverage is off, and the cream can't seem to smooth out the rough patch of cherries. Genuinely, I think it's the cherries causing the problem and not the chocolate. I think if they had just gone with a chocolate Irish cream, this would be a significantly better beverage. It's not offensive in its current state; however, it is not going to get the stellar review that it's siblings have.
Bottom Line: It's fine, but there's really no reason to get it
