The exceedingly clear beverage is a very pale gold, and it has very little head (again, I am increasingly just attributing this to getting it in growler form). The aroma is almost entirely a very yeasty bread, but there seems to be a little spiciness and maybe some pine going on. The aroma is barely there, so I'm struggling to get any of it into my nose.
First sip has much more personality than the aroma revealed. Instead, there is that yeast and bread alongside tropical fruits and honey. Grain is so deep into the bread that it is hard to discern, but I'm pretty sure it's there. The way the beer finishes is sweet overall, and that seems to be in keeping with the style.
Tip-in is sweet bread malt with very light carbonation tickle. The middle approaches with a significant carbonation and acid swell and the bread is very watery with light honey. The finish is a surge of spices, yeast, and pine with bitterness that manages to overcome the sweetness until it gets musty.
Bottom Line: Unbalanced and just not great.
