The beer is a somewhat hazy copper-gold with an off-white, sticky head that comes out a little thick, but that could be because (despite my years of experience) the little tab didn't evenly open the can, so the remaining metal chad is all cattywampus and it causes a churning whirlpool as the beer comes out. The aroma is mostly dough over tropical fruits.
First sip is dusty and bitter. There are fruits in it, but they are the rinds and pits of the fruits. It's unbalanced and raw with a grittiness and a touch of despair. I don't know if I'm reading too much into it or deciding too harshly, but this is where I am.
Tip-in is almost no carbonation at all with very light fruits on top of a caramel and bread malt. The middle is a mix of fruit rinds and pits tossed into a mixer with bitterness and unsweetened caramel. The finish is bitter and tart with the echo of a fruit.
Bottom Line: It's not terrible, but it's bland and uninspired.
