The beer is, in fact, gold. It doesn't sport much of a head, and the picture would lead you to believe that it actually featured less than it originally had. It took me a second to get my camera up, and it had died down a bit. The light dusting left on top of the beer looks like a swirl of a hurricane. The aroma is very light citrus backed by equally light malt. I'm not expecting this to be a hammer over my head. Instead, this should really be a good drinking beer for sitting down and watching a hockey game.First sip confirms my suspicions. This beer has a yeast that is cutting through the other flavors, but it's still not particularly distinct. Instead, it meanders about with the citrus and the bread malt in tow. It certainly not an offensive beer, and I'd goes a far as a was probably pretty crisp, but I'm not sure this was intended for my normal process of dissection. But, a process it is. And I shall follow it to the detriment of everything else.
Tip-in is medium carbonation sizzle that builds on top of the yeast and bread malt with no more than a spritz of the orange and lemon mixture from the hops. The middle makes up for lack of strong flavors by increasing the carbonation and having a very smooth character to the remaining flavors. The finish hits with a little bit of resin, and then the trail off is yeast and light spices over top of the citrus glaze.
Bottom Line: Not a bad beer by any stretch, but eminently forgettable.
