The
last beer from
Untitled Art was a hellish nightmare that I was lucky to have survived. I can't believe that it took two breweries to screw something up so royally. Here, however, I'm unlikely to be assaulted with coffee in my beer. Instead, their use of the "
IIPA" made me go look it up. It turns out, this just means double IPA. It wasn't until I took the time to look that up that I found that double IPA simply means Imperial IPA (or I-IPA or Double I-PA, get it?).

Well, it says that it's hazy, and I can't say that it's lying. The bright orange beverage has a sticky head of varying size bubbles that leaves a sheen of bubbles across the top of the beverage once it goes down. This is one of the first beers I can recall in recent memory that I'm getting a lot of lacing on. And that brings me joy. The aroma is tropical fruits, some citrus fruits, and what smells to me like hand lotion. Yep, I took another with, and that definitely smells like hand lotion to me.
First sip is surprisingly good. I know what I was smelling with the hand lotion, but it's not there. What also isn't there is the bitter bite on the back end that I'm used to. Instead, the whole beverage is relatively smooth, and the tropical and citrus fruits are getting along just fine. What's the malt like? I don't know. I couldn't taste the malt, and I'm not really complaining. It appears to be tamping down the bitterness, and that's good enough for me.
Tip-in is orange and tangerine smoothness with a light carbonation sprinkle. The middle brings a significant ramp-up of carbonation while the aforementioned fruits get joined by mango, grapefruit, peach, pear, and a somewhat cracker malt. The finish has a bit of bitterness that comes on with a dryness that trails off with a tangerine powder.
Bottom Line: It's a decent brew. I'd have another.
