I'm genuinely surprised that this doesn't have more of a head. I coaxed out as much as I could on the pour, and that ran away like a kid who just smashed a Halloween pumpkin on the ground and heard someone yell, "HEY!" So, I'm left with about a half ring of teeny tiny little bubbles and a few resilient bubbles in the middle of the top. The color of the beer is yellow-orange, and it carries the aroma of sweet malt and confectionery sugar. So, not much to say on appearance other than I would've liked more head.First sip is odd, but it wouldn't call it particularly good. It has a heavy bread malt and a sweetness to it, but it's also managing to be both watery and aggressively spiced at the same time. I don't really know how to express it much better than that, so I'm taking a second sip.
The second sip doesn't really give me a whole lot more insight. I think it's a little sweeter on the second take, and I get some watermelon and pear going on in the middle. It's very strange beer to sip, and I can't say I would recommend sipping it. So, I'm going to gulp.
Tip-in is carbonation sizzle with cane sugar, watermelon, and crusty bread. The middle ramps up the carbonation to an insane level across the top of the mouth while the sugar sweetens an indiscernible citrus and a sweet bread goes with it underneath. The finish is a little sweet, and it is also a little dry; the flavors are mostly the muted citrus and bread with maybe some pomegranate having been tossed in at some point.
Bottom Line: This is available only in limited quantities, and that's probably for the best.
