First sip is complex and interesting - the way I like a sip. It's got citrus, flowers, bread, grain, and I may be going out on a limb here, but I think I taste barbecue sauce. It's probably just the added spices, but I'm sure they are using some of the same spices that they use in the sauce at Tex's World Famous BBQ just outside of Nashville. It makes sense, as this beer is also produced just outside of Nashville; maybe they had the sauce there and decided to make a beer in honor of it.
A proper draught brings a tip-in of slight carbonation with a citrus pillow and light spices around the edges. The middle is like a orange and lemon biscuit with rays of sunshine and love. It's possible that those last two were more of a result of the 8.2% ABV. Possible, but I'm sticking with sunshine and love. The finish starts with a heightened citrus and a bit of a tart taste. It trails off a bit more bitter with spices and then becomes oddly sweet. The beer improves as it warms up a bit, and the bitterness evens out into a soft, smooth delight.
