The first sip is actually a lot more tame than I had expected. It's got the light grains of a regular wheat beer with a bit of melon and lemon kind of surfing across it. It's a mellow melon flavor, and it crosses ever so quickly and fades away very quickly. I suspect that this will probably be a better sipping beer than a drinking beer, but I'm going to try to drink this as a proper beer should be imbibed.
Tip-in is light carbonation and noticeable watermelon. The middle is filled with grains and bread as far as the mouth can taste, and the mouth can taste quite a bit. As the finish approaches, a lemon comes out to play, and it's followed by a bitter hunk of something that tastes wrapped up in a used sweatsock. It goes away quickly enough, but that is a horrid turn for it to take.
Bottom Line: I'm generally not a fan of wheat beers, and this demonstrates why. It has the makings of a good beer, but it took a turn for the worse, and that's what I was afraid of.
