Initial sip is actually a lot more mild than I expected. It's definitely hoppy, as the aroma let on, but it's not the hit-you-over-the-head hops that something like Heady Topper might bring. Instead, it is relaxed, easy drinking, and I could see this as an every day beer. It's alcohol content and price may preclude that idea, but the taste - thus far - does not. It's possible that this really needs a good quaff to bump it up a notch.
Tip-in is light hops with a bit of orange hue about it. It's more watery than you might think if you just smelled it. Carbonation nips at the tip of the tongue, but it doesn't stop its way down the gullet. The middle blossoms with a flowery taste from the hops and a pleasing caramel sweetness. The finish hits a little harder with the floral note of the hops and a wave of bitterness lashes out as a final attempt to leave an impact. The bitterness is a bit pine cone or something, and it lingers and fades.
