From what I can tell, Scofflaw is still just a giant middle finger to those of us who try to find good beer. The chart at the bottom of this review will, regardless of how this particular beer rates, remain with a giant number of beers in the average category. This can't possibly be your goal, people. Tell me you have been brewing to break out with some fantastic hit. Tell me this was all worth it. Let's look beyond the POG.
The orange beer has way too much in it. There was a slew of bits that dumped into the beer right at the end of the pour, and it's not the kind of stuff that makes the beer hazy. It is, I am told, yeast, and it's perfectly safe, but that doesn't mean I want it in here. The head is going to leave lacing, despite there not being much of it. The aroma is fruits. Lots of them. It smells off-balance.
First sip is pretty bad. The fruit is, and this seems like par for the course for these Pog beers, all skins and pits. It overwhelms whatever is under there, trying to be beer-like. The result is a jumbled mess of nonsense. I really like a juicy beer, and I prefer citra hops in my beers, but this is doing fruits dirty.
Tip-in is sweet fruit meat of coriander, mango, and oranges. The middle becomes somewhat bitter, and the juices become less distinct and more skins and pits. The finish is a mess that I don't really want to talk about.
