More Marble Fox. After the fantastic beer I just had from these guys, why wouldn't I try everything they have to offer? If you said this was going to be just an IPA from a small brewery in Tennessee, I would already be on board to give it a try. Few and far between are the breweries that have done me so dirty that I will not try another one of their crappy beers. I'm pretty open to even a bad brewery changing for the better.
The pale yellow beer had a nice, white head that will leave some lacing, but it's not going to be a lot. I guess I may ask for too much from most beers when it comes to lacing, but it's a very alluring part of the presentation. My spouse likes to comment on the smell of beer as being "like beer," and I can see this falling into that category. This is the beeriest smelling beer I've had in a while.
First sip is sublime and smooth. It is sweet in the middle, and then it gets bitter at the end. The can says it thinks I should taste peach, honey, pineapple, and mixed berries, but I don't. I mean, I can taste the pineapple, as it tends to be pretty forward in these beers, and I guess I'll give them peach for the same reason, but they are smoking something with mixed berries.
Tip-in is really smooth - like I think it might have lactose sugars kind of smooth - with pineapple spritzed on peach fuzz. The middle is suddenly harsh with the pineapple husks joining a carbonation rattle over a honey malt (there's that honey!). The finish is bitterness that slyly enters the picture and takes peaches into the trail off.
Bottom Line: Pretty dang good.
