It seems like you can produce a <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Cream">cream</a>, and your natural next derivation is either peanut butter, <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2023/08/tennessee-shine-chocomoo-shine-cream.html">chocolate</a>, or <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2020/07/jackson-morgan-salted-caramel-souther.html">salted caramel</a>. Carolans has already done the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2023/06/carolans-peanut-butter-irish-cream.html">peanut butter</a> version, so it's time to move on to salted caramel. I used to think that the salt in salted caramel was kind of a dumb thing to add. It didn't really make any sense to me to add salt to something sweet. Since then, I have had several salted caramel things, and I'm now really starting to understand it. Let's get on with the show.<p></p><p>I would say that this pours out a little thinner than other creams. Not really sure what that's about, but it's going to leave the same weepers on the side, in general. They don't stick around as long, as the beverage is clearly not as viscous as it's brethren. There's no denying the caramel scent, and it is on top of what is already a pretty good <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2020/10/carolans-irish-cream.html">cream</a>. Salt doesn't really have much of a smell, so I'm not surprised I don't smell much of it.</p><p>First sip is better than okay. There are several different kinds of creams that I have been going through, and some of them will specifically call out that they are <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2022/06/sugarlands-shine-appalachian-sippin.html">sipping creams</a>. Generally, those are ones that are from the American South. Irish creams just say that they are <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Ireland">Irish</a> and cream. They don't say anything about how you should enjoy them. Nevertheless, I go out of my way to try and enjoy these things on their own rather than adding them to a complex beverage, even though that's where they typically find themselves. As a standalone beverage, this could sip okay all night.</p><p>As I continue to sip, the warmth of the room does not do great things for the cream. While beer may improve as it descends from extremely cold to cool, creams don't seem to have that as a benefit. As a result, the closer this gets to room temperature, the less I like it. For right now, it's still a little chilly, so I'm going to wind up sipping this faster than I probably should.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAT6pdStMWc3LH4-_J7rf694mLrmiHb7x4GtfH5KmXLk9GSksQxetI0PAdLr19xigTbqRHZt1CfKDbY3A_KX7TPihlNCHZFq1R5w1p4WujiheHZqCDH3mfFAjue1p-fES02j7g3qxT14CShbCelBKkzqONJ2_8-FS4yYJ4Nyyy5_icel82bz60BiPIsyDD/s1685/Carolans%20Salted%20Caramel%20Irish%20Cream.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="948" data-original-width="1685" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAT6pdStMWc3LH4-_J7rf694mLrmiHb7x4GtfH5KmXLk9GSksQxetI0PAdLr19xigTbqRHZt1CfKDbY3A_KX7TPihlNCHZFq1R5w1p4WujiheHZqCDH3mfFAjue1p-fES02j7g3qxT14CShbCelBKkzqONJ2_8-FS4yYJ4Nyyy5_icel82bz60BiPIsyDD/w640-h360/Carolans%20Salted%20Caramel%20Irish%20Cream.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><b><u>Bottom Line</u></b>: Cream, salt, caramel. Well, this exists to knock 40% off of the calories of a regular 2.5 fluid ounce serving of <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2019/10/baileys-original-irish-cream.html">Baileys</a>. Now, it's been knocked down to a measly 139 cal, and you can feel free to drink all of the 2.5 fluid ounce servings that you want. Assuming, of course, that you have that number of calories to spend. How many calories should you have from delicious <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Liqueur">liqueurs</a>? I have no idea. You have to make your own choices in life. I can't make them all for you.<p></p><p>The cream is lighter in color than it sibling, and I don't think I should be surprised about that. The viscosity of the cream also seems to be a little less than average. The color is that off-white that you would absolutely expect from this kind of beverage, though. The aroma is deliciously creamy with alcohol right at the tip, and it is pretty clear is going to taste very similar to regular Baileys. That is certainly a good thing.</p><p>First sip is slightly more whiskey-heavy than it is cream-heavy. I wonder if that's how they managed to do this. With the reduction in alcohol as well, it makes me wonder if they are cutting the cream with milk or even water. The whiskey mixes well with the chocolate and vanilla, and the creaminess of the beverage is still certainly good enough. Is this is good as regular Baileys? No. Does it need to be? Probably not. It needs to be very good, and it is.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVDrspMVHwq29ed0d5dE0Emyekw_aW8q1pWih4SvG8E_v_upqB54YXaHGT1oC-Qy477iC02sG7u_pdj_k8ZidRGODb44woo525jkrnUgjT9QRw1hiQzy1KJiNGrxBhcIibG3DiHCHjufz1tk7Yg5T3konwQuklvCYeB7G7p85FErMqJzgWtUUoDvzCtfjU/s4000/Baileys%20Deliciously%20Light%20Cream.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVDrspMVHwq29ed0d5dE0Emyekw_aW8q1pWih4SvG8E_v_upqB54YXaHGT1oC-Qy477iC02sG7u_pdj_k8ZidRGODb44woo525jkrnUgjT9QRw1hiQzy1KJiNGrxBhcIibG3DiHCHjufz1tk7Yg5T3konwQuklvCYeB7G7p85FErMqJzgWtUUoDvzCtfjU/w640-h360/Baileys%20Deliciously%20Light%20Cream.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><b><u>Bottom Line</u></b>: Not the blemish on the reputation as it might have become.<p></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;">3.25/5</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGSQKTtBKtwK7886tpcP0Hck1E7E0VzSKuJg_9hSsBaUfNQQEJKsgNGNn_g2VkzSOo5VorDMM-lfwQkCG6meBQT2kS2Hg1OIhSa5inatT-UpyDePXnZUhux7lgBCIDOlpUkKXDngemTfwfpgc-09tbFfYn2v2d1BeKLBBJ3CVKCDOT4Cou0zUASFVMjs8Y/s1007/Capture.PNG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="665" data-original-width="1007" height="264" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGSQKTtBKtwK7886tpcP0Hck1E7E0VzSKuJg_9hSsBaUfNQQEJKsgNGNn_g2VkzSOo5VorDMM-lfwQkCG6meBQT2kS2Hg1OIhSa5inatT-UpyDePXnZUhux7lgBCIDOlpUkKXDngemTfwfpgc-09tbFfYn2v2d1BeKLBBJ3CVKCDOT4Cou0zUASFVMjs8Y/w400-h264/Capture.PNG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-14652616056215053692024-03-14T20:36:00.000-05:002024-03-14T20:36:38.958-05:00BuzzBallz "Pineapple Jalapeño" Cocktail<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvhqGaQsJoW0ZMNSNX_wnDpnvN6UI3I-IO87KTyl8SFST30oN8WkfdEHw4Taq2uN5Csu5RPJ2YtxNF9j_3PdUREUG-ioWl7jzVWYmQDm8l1xQpvtOYvNyQaVAUy3J7UbO2SfejX1FiwFQNV47PhaxNLO3jUEtmt-_CLN1SrQwcjtEhT64NcNAtiTCvTZoT/s3278/BuzzBallz%20Pineapple%20Jalape%C3%B1o%20Cocktail%20(Social).jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1844" data-original-width="3278" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvhqGaQsJoW0ZMNSNX_wnDpnvN6UI3I-IO87KTyl8SFST30oN8WkfdEHw4Taq2uN5Csu5RPJ2YtxNF9j_3PdUREUG-ioWl7jzVWYmQDm8l1xQpvtOYvNyQaVAUy3J7UbO2SfejX1FiwFQNV47PhaxNLO3jUEtmt-_CLN1SrQwcjtEhT64NcNAtiTCvTZoT/w640-h360/BuzzBallz%20Pineapple%20Jalape%C3%B1o%20Cocktail%20(Social).jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />This one is going to be completely different than the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/BuzzBallz">other two</a>. The other two were chocolate or sweet in flavor, and this one is going to be, reportedly, pineapple and jalapeño. I don't know what this kind of <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Cocktail">cocktail</a> even tastes like. Would be good? Well, the other two were pretty decent. If this goes well, I may go ahead and pick up a few more of the ones that I passed over when I grabbed these three. There are quite a few different flavors to pick from, and there are actually very large containers that are, presumably, for large gatherings of people. These are all engineered to <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/ABV%2015.0%25">15% ABV</a>, so I don't think I want to go drinking giant bottles of it.<p></p><p>The look of the beverage makes me believe that it was intended to be imbibed directly from the container. This doesn't look particularly good. It looks like dirty dishwater. It's not nearly as viscous as the other beverages, and it leaves no weepers on the sides when it is sloshed about with gusto. I can barely pick up either pineapple or jalapeño in the aroma. It actually smells sweet and floral with lime. There is a juice to it, and scrutinizing it further leads me to believe it's pineapple juice, but it's not in your face.</p><p>First sip is delicious. I think all three of these have been very good right from the start, and their flaws have only been teased out with further sips. Obviously, with the first one, it was entirely my mistake for trying to gulp. Nevertheless, I still think someone who is inclined to pick up a BuzzBallz is the kind of person who will probably try and gulp. The pineapple mixes well with the jalapeño, and the jalapeño is giving it just enough spice to warm it up a bit. Nevertheless, the sweetness from the pineapple juice is undeniable.</p><p>Subsequent sips reveal the pineapple to be a little flat as it first starts, as if it is pineapple husk that somehow made it into the beverage. That doesn't last very long, and then the pineapple surges with lime and sweetness before the jalapeño kicks up the peppers a notch. The jalapeño spiciness, more than it's flavor, hang on as the pineapple relinquishes control to sweetness as the drink fades from memory and from the mouth.</p><p><b><u></u></b></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><u><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj84aWz1XAdFr5yS4PXoLFNCrKto8AJgSILKkzpAuv0Igt_gmf9z7d6VWwKwr8Ai7WSfxkP-kS2cHEC27hsowycQPLAM6_dCAO8bZ3WFfoegVEf4SX-aD44lp7jw_Ngmuw_AHME3L97eQm0m3Uiyi-nsTDOTd7g2nSQrHwxn78CU-gL19eUuHrSOy_C3beN/s4000/BuzzBallz%20Pineapple%20Jalape%C3%B1o%20Cocktail.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj84aWz1XAdFr5yS4PXoLFNCrKto8AJgSILKkzpAuv0Igt_gmf9z7d6VWwKwr8Ai7WSfxkP-kS2cHEC27hsowycQPLAM6_dCAO8bZ3WFfoegVEf4SX-aD44lp7jw_Ngmuw_AHME3L97eQm0m3Uiyi-nsTDOTd7g2nSQrHwxn78CU-gL19eUuHrSOy_C3beN/w640-h360/BuzzBallz%20Pineapple%20Jalape%C3%B1o%20Cocktail.jpg" width="640" /></a></u></b></div><b><u><br />Bottom Line</u></b>: Surprisingly, probably the best of the bunch so far.<p></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;">3.5/5</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzqma6sURfgWEAS305NVFA4_H7v3b68xIKHiDW9Z1xKUM4LTx2_vBeDEx5nzLNxTt4BChqT9o8ezKtJXVHiFsclHpdmJAx0f-jFQuwoao_PzGSuHWazFzstzpYXbFmb16eeNRwntDAnCG2C8Y6dVmBRWk3RRssRLPlgx3_ykyA_Os7Qwl7QBRoUQ_hMKBb/s1007/Capture.PNG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="666" data-original-width="1007" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzqma6sURfgWEAS305NVFA4_H7v3b68xIKHiDW9Z1xKUM4LTx2_vBeDEx5nzLNxTt4BChqT9o8ezKtJXVHiFsclHpdmJAx0f-jFQuwoao_PzGSuHWazFzstzpYXbFmb16eeNRwntDAnCG2C8Y6dVmBRWk3RRssRLPlgx3_ykyA_Os7Qwl7QBRoUQ_hMKBb/w400-h265/Capture.PNG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-39476480347055872412024-03-13T19:37:00.000-05:002024-03-13T19:37:30.000-05:00New Belgium "Voodoo Ranger - Hardcharged Peach" Iced Tea<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQelsLhDsCjZEKZIuxJuHXNo-kPDlU7UAvPCPAZIsfZPpIhfHuI8-UHOjYsWL0YxaZQQLQb5Peo9bdAviWOWw_Js3a9kAJhgnZ4Mj9l87L1Im_wwTx19Tf5jVuUj7CzBzFJZ-1r3mkuc0uXZQFppdO3vVKrj0OI-VFONzidz5U0UGX4Z1_AxUJW1pxP29i/s1576/New%20Belgium%20Voodoo%20Ranger%20-%20Hardcharged%20Peach%20Iced%20Tea%20(Social.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="886" data-original-width="1576" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQelsLhDsCjZEKZIuxJuHXNo-kPDlU7UAvPCPAZIsfZPpIhfHuI8-UHOjYsWL0YxaZQQLQb5Peo9bdAviWOWw_Js3a9kAJhgnZ4Mj9l87L1Im_wwTx19Tf5jVuUj7CzBzFJZ-1r3mkuc0uXZQFppdO3vVKrj0OI-VFONzidz5U0UGX4Z1_AxUJW1pxP29i/w640-h360/New%20Belgium%20Voodoo%20Ranger%20-%20Hardcharged%20Peach%20Iced%20Tea%20(Social.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />The fact that they didn't add carbonation to this may seem like a little thing, but that <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Simply%20Spiked">Simply Spiked</a> stuff really messed with me. They made so many dumb choices with that from the idiotic carbonation to the choice of using concentrate from a brand that exists because they were different by not using concentrate. Well, <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Voodoo%20Ranger">Voodoo Ranger</a> has no history of tea in the first place, so everything they do is breaking new ground for them.<p></p><p>It's a peach tea. What do you want it to look like? It looks like tea. It doesn't even have much of a peach color to it, if I'm honest. The aroma is <b>very</b> peachy. I am almost overwhelmed with the peach. There is no mistaking the alcohol under it, but you might lose the tea part of it from the smell. I guess they're planning on covering the alcohol with peach, even though they didn't need to do that with the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2024/02/new-belgium-voodoo-ranger-hardcharged.html">regular</a> tea.</p><p>First sip is peach tea with a little alcohol added. Well, I say it's peach tea, but it is <b>P</b>each tea - it earns a capital. The problem is that the tea doesn't earn one. It is completely subservient to the Peach, and I'm not sure that makes it better. I don't mind peach in general, but I want my tea to taste like tea. If you add flavor, it should compliment the tea. This is taking over, more than complimenting.</p><p>Tip-in is peach on top of tea, but the tea is at least able to be discerned. The fact that this has a picture of space on it may be think that this might have galaxy hops, and I have run into a few beers that were <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2023/06/oskar-blues-cosmic-mutant-ipa.html">space themed</a> as a result of using those kinds of hops. As it turns out, I have not yet had this beer. That's just fine by me, as <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Panther%20Creek">Panther Creek</a> has been spectacular from the word go, and I'm going to savor every little bit of this beer that I can have.<p></p><p>As I cracked open the beer, the first thing I noticed was that it seems like it had no carbonation. There wasn't even that usual pfft noise that comes when you open, and pouring it into the class didn't produce all that much head until I really tried. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Nevertheless, there was quite a bit of cascading once it was actually poured in roughly. There will be lacing left behind by the few bubbles that it was able to produce, and they are of mixed size as they lay flat against the top of the beer. The aroma is tropical and citrus, but they lay under a skin of fruit rind that smells like it still has the peach fuzz attached to it. I don't really know what to make of it.</p><p>First sip isn't great. It has bitterness and unexpected pine, and the bitterness seems to devolve into a dryness that is unjustified by the level of hops that I'm getting. I know that this supposed to have tropical and citrus flavors to the hops, but that's not what I'm tasting. If anything, it's possible it has a little bit of a funk and a little bit of a dank to it. The can itself doesn't say when it was brewed, but I assume I got this relatively fresh. I'm not sure what's causing the issues. Maybe it would just taste better with a full gulp.</p><p>Tip-in is moderate (and rising) carbonation with fruit husks and pine. The middle hikes the carbonation to the roof of the mouth while I catch a glimpse of the pineapple and passionfruit between the pine branches and a misty funk. The finish is a crash of bitterness and dryness as pineapple husks and pine vie for supremacy through the trail off.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhx9GFql9w0ET2wSYdlKI9MqkJyO7m6FWJrVeHa874C_S-bQ8NeWQMHwQG1I70lpmyeY4Z1EQdtV7NfF0nlXakA4sg9HtShtSp1l0C_pwUwHtJwZzGKWhc0vBvVkmk9BZg-G-S86NOI96Il2ci_tQJ4P1GTJiY4Gy2EkFKr5-b-f7xX3U66NS92NzCMMWkl/s1576/Panther%20Creek%20Star%20Party%20IPA.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="886" data-original-width="1576" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhx9GFql9w0ET2wSYdlKI9MqkJyO7m6FWJrVeHa874C_S-bQ8NeWQMHwQG1I70lpmyeY4Z1EQdtV7NfF0nlXakA4sg9HtShtSp1l0C_pwUwHtJwZzGKWhc0vBvVkmk9BZg-G-S86NOI96Il2ci_tQJ4P1GTJiY4Gy2EkFKr5-b-f7xX3U66NS92NzCMMWkl/w640-h360/Panther%20Creek%20Star%20Party%20IPA.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><b><u>Bottom Line</u></b>: They can't all be winners.<p></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;">1.5/5</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwcbBzOM_OIopQ4ZlHb_Q0GEsNTZk-dSkX-ecsaafxLOUoSPk13XV4r6PBdQUD_UKKSfPy1IEGrxCQh9vbMrVfXa03gUHreoDGlDRT2n4SlauNwzdy7hLgWGkthCTgb8MuDuZEcknqSr3Tj_kVkiyXwnnesBSm8Z20Ms6P6ysjHoW0PnWqaGsB8PaoAXJ1/s1011/Capture.PNG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="667" data-original-width="1011" height="264" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwcbBzOM_OIopQ4ZlHb_Q0GEsNTZk-dSkX-ecsaafxLOUoSPk13XV4r6PBdQUD_UKKSfPy1IEGrxCQh9vbMrVfXa03gUHreoDGlDRT2n4SlauNwzdy7hLgWGkthCTgb8MuDuZEcknqSr3Tj_kVkiyXwnnesBSm8Z20Ms6P6ysjHoW0PnWqaGsB8PaoAXJ1/w400-h264/Capture.PNG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-11058483860584900522024-03-10T10:05:00.000-05:002024-03-10T10:05:07.232-05:00Moosehead Canadian Lager<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVWXYatcpVKHT8s1TmIuCC-h6793KgHee2wxeZWr84Z4izG-OpT7BYdSnQTL8RA7by0MNc1BkahRY2mEbivp-t_-z3ZjOYz4o35rpzQOm24P0vGSBmKYZ78EpQDOL0_QDdufqTR-4nUDtr20R4hFC6QoEGtIIRRtpg0RNT2MPLAdnR7dqA6GVvWDe5EZkG/s1576/Moosehead%20Lager%20(Social).jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="886" data-original-width="1576" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVWXYatcpVKHT8s1TmIuCC-h6793KgHee2wxeZWr84Z4izG-OpT7BYdSnQTL8RA7by0MNc1BkahRY2mEbivp-t_-z3ZjOYz4o35rpzQOm24P0vGSBmKYZ78EpQDOL0_QDdufqTR-4nUDtr20R4hFC6QoEGtIIRRtpg0RNT2MPLAdnR7dqA6GVvWDe5EZkG/w640-h360/Moosehead%20Lager%20(Social).jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />I have not had a Moosehead since I was very young. I remember it being an aspirational beer (compared to <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Coors">Coors</a> and <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Budweiser">Bud</a>) from <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Canada">Canada</a> - so it was an import. That makes it cool and better, right? Well, there wasn't anything like craft beer at the time, and I was lucky to get any beer at all. Moosehead was the goal - the best beer I'd heard of when I was 17. Time to review it now that I'm... not 17.<p></p><p>Okay, this is going to be short. I opened it, and it is skunked. There is no discernable date anywhere on this thing, and I can blame both the store where I purchased it (for not tracking their inventory well) and the brewer for putting this in anything but a brown bottle or a can. The green bottle just isn't enough to stop this nonsense from happening, and I blame Canada.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge26tetc1TVedIvt4mGH9znyIvA7wvSLUxXMR-47YNTPys5gggXN7uhA3WX1nviwNoawMfnNLU8wleZs5ntFsP5_q08ngZFR_rFbr7LlZerCikTwOozBwFRnZy4JKA2MR5taKLs58K0e5IYs-vLModCNioFz6n_H97NfoKMJ68MDDfJIgybGnw4GUrw9Rr/s4000/Moosehead%20Lager.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge26tetc1TVedIvt4mGH9znyIvA7wvSLUxXMR-47YNTPys5gggXN7uhA3WX1nviwNoawMfnNLU8wleZs5ntFsP5_q08ngZFR_rFbr7LlZerCikTwOozBwFRnZy4JKA2MR5taKLs58K0e5IYs-vLModCNioFz6n_H97NfoKMJ68MDDfJIgybGnw4GUrw9Rr/w640-h360/Moosehead%20Lager.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><b><u>Bottom Line</u></b>: Skunked and bad.<p></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;">0.0/5</span></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></p>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-79255912455346106632024-03-07T20:58:00.001-06:002024-03-07T20:58:41.681-06:00BuzzBallz "Choc Tease" Cocktail<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjC8VLcq_mhM_xrq9mJFAve4X6Q4c5chZsMrdhqTXIG8vIc9STjruPuZAI2VQdjQZZ_ZtbB5gMAj2yAfyROukAbg2Ht5Hv3WjWmz0L1cOJ8bMw4sPxs_zV_13rQkqBSmtPlVCCTxzniLFwdzskWTDH5fAv69oJcEz9vrBv1GcbIKsm9gUQEgWhasn78CsFv/s4000/BuzzBallz%20Choc%20Tease%20Cocktail%20(Social).jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjC8VLcq_mhM_xrq9mJFAve4X6Q4c5chZsMrdhqTXIG8vIc9STjruPuZAI2VQdjQZZ_ZtbB5gMAj2yAfyROukAbg2Ht5Hv3WjWmz0L1cOJ8bMw4sPxs_zV_13rQkqBSmtPlVCCTxzniLFwdzskWTDH5fAv69oJcEz9vrBv1GcbIKsm9gUQEgWhasn78CsFv/w640-h360/BuzzBallz%20Choc%20Tease%20Cocktail%20(Social).jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />This is the second <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/BuzzBallz">BuzzBall</a>, and I don't know that this will be a whole lot different than the last one. I don't remember what my options were, but one that was a cookie with chocolate and one that is chocolate seems... a bit similar. The third one will be very different, and I remember that a margarita was among my other options, and I'm not as fan of those, so maybe I would up with the best options. We shall see.<p></p><p>The light brown beverage is actually perfect for chocolate milk. If anything, this might be a little light, unlike the last one. Maybe I should mix the two. Either way, the aroma is less inviting than the previous test. It is a bit like some of the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/BuzzBallz">creams</a> I've had, and the problem is that it makes me think about those creams and how I would much rather be sipping one of them (even though I've not yet tried this <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Vodka">vodka</a> and <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Wine">wine</a> mix).</p><p>First sip actually reminds me a bit of a cross between the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2023/09/amarula-cream.html">Armarula</a> cream and the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2023/10/royal-dutch-chocovine-cream.html">ChocoVine</a>. If the chocolate was better tasting, I'd lean it a lot more towards the ChocoVino. You can tell that there is wine in here doing some dirty work, but the chocolate is mixing things up. The odd fruit that was used for the Armarula gave it a sweet and otherworldly taste that the orange and wine are doing to this.</p><p>I'm not going to try to gulp this, as I know that really did the last BuzzBallz a disservice. Instead, I will content myself to drink a better-than-average beverage.</p><b><u><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPNldCnRupC-T-Ewi9zgb3AAEHQ3ZQw4SaFZxBKiV5dWJL_g_aCVRjZto3jEDpPF8-FV4KDhPO0lZGhEX6zlZIFKetLeK9aHKRVLYNuzMCQyJH8qURJDjyHiXwX_IGgZ6IyJhzq4LxHNgzHo8cVeMJwCBwPmoJm5vYS_Ixx7O01eVfDa534UZKI-A2I1xd/s4000/BuzzBallz%20Choc%20Tease%20Cocktail.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPNldCnRupC-T-Ewi9zgb3AAEHQ3ZQw4SaFZxBKiV5dWJL_g_aCVRjZto3jEDpPF8-FV4KDhPO0lZGhEX6zlZIFKetLeK9aHKRVLYNuzMCQyJH8qURJDjyHiXwX_IGgZ6IyJhzq4LxHNgzHo8cVeMJwCBwPmoJm5vYS_Ixx7O01eVfDa534UZKI-A2I1xd/w640-h360/BuzzBallz%20Choc%20Tease%20Cocktail.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />Bottom Line</u></b>: Not for every day, but not a bad sipper.<p></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;">3.0/5</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD6AKhsBxY1w04B9NpyU04h2dfkh5DbTVBfo0Aw6Gvo9M3zsQ30s8_HrhweHp2DoD_L_2nm7ks8X3lcfpwrkfrv-qQBbqI1SzC_oJPx4V0Xmpe9sfdVkDHjRJnxvNhriPj6IW-l-hoS2qQLubaieSO0dLwjVmUGiMCcSifIT-aw3twDMa9tQdWuPqM84xG/s1010/Capture.PNG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="666" data-original-width="1010" height="264" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD6AKhsBxY1w04B9NpyU04h2dfkh5DbTVBfo0Aw6Gvo9M3zsQ30s8_HrhweHp2DoD_L_2nm7ks8X3lcfpwrkfrv-qQBbqI1SzC_oJPx4V0Xmpe9sfdVkDHjRJnxvNhriPj6IW-l-hoS2qQLubaieSO0dLwjVmUGiMCcSifIT-aw3twDMa9tQdWuPqM84xG/w400-h264/Capture.PNG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-11266850100623747872024-03-05T19:01:00.000-06:002024-03-05T19:01:38.776-06:00BuzzBallz "Cookie Nookie" Cocktail<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAJT5JAyf6imKYNu43MfFHSOHLcCyIidZ5LBjTzqWvpEwQVq1aZ3RZer2g2_KcPHZ-UiC8ZOOmKYiXdiXtuI-hBp1SUWCLAzryzfF7viLwjyBgfCdDI8zknobsKjwNMoVt5R9wRmuTowW-_sIhiIthP7hvr3X4R3_DrgdqqKbnnrHQMeQK3VW6Hf954jxP/s2904/BuzzBallz%20Cookie%20Nookie%20Cocktail%20(Social).jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1634" data-original-width="2904" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAJT5JAyf6imKYNu43MfFHSOHLcCyIidZ5LBjTzqWvpEwQVq1aZ3RZer2g2_KcPHZ-UiC8ZOOmKYiXdiXtuI-hBp1SUWCLAzryzfF7viLwjyBgfCdDI8zknobsKjwNMoVt5R9wRmuTowW-_sIhiIthP7hvr3X4R3_DrgdqqKbnnrHQMeQK3VW6Hf954jxP/w640-h360/BuzzBallz%20Cookie%20Nookie%20Cocktail%20(Social).jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />I suspect I was meant to drink this directly from the container. Further, if I were to pour it into a glass, I should probably not have dumped the entire thing in. I will probably fix that in the next BuzzBallz review I do. In the interim, I have to voice concern over this purchase. It claims to use premium <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Vodka">vodka</a>, and I suppose there's nothing wrong with that. I still have yet to find a vodka that I find particularly inviting, but that's just me getting used to vodka, I suppose. The second ingredient it lists is "other than standard orange wine with cream ." What the actual hell does that mean? I guess I have committed myself to finding out. Wait. I just noticed that the last ingredient is "natural cookie flavors and certified color." Who certified color? What does it mean to me?<p></p><p>The beverage pours like a very dark chocolate milk. This is the kind of chocolate milk that you would buy in a grocery store that was premixed. It might even be a little darker than that. It puts me in mind of the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2020/06/mozart-chocolate-cream.html">Mozart</a> chocolate <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Liqueur">liqueur</a> that I tried once and did not particularly like because it was too thick. I imagine, since this is supposed to be something college kids drink to get plastered, that this will not have that same feeling. It may have a different feeling based on the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/ABV%2015.0%25">15% ABV</a>. It can be hard to cover up all that alcohol. The aroma is shockingly good. It says cookie on the ball, and cookie is what it smells like. I'm genuinely surprised that it smells so good, and I'm suddenly looking forward to this beverage.</p><p>First sip is very good. It follows the nose with lots of cookie. It is more chocolate on the front end, and it's more baked cookie dough on the backend, but it taste really good. It seems kind of like a cross between a chocolate chip cookie and possibly a snickerdoodle. I get some of the spices that indicate that it might be cinnamon, and the overall taste is good. I don't know what more to say other than I can't do a full swig. Wait a minute. I suspect this thing is actually designed for a full swig. I'm tossing caution to the wind.</p><p>Tip-in is hazelnut and cinnamon cookie with a drizzle of dark chocolate. The middle gets bad really quick; I think I may have been wrong when I said that this had been intended to be gulped. The finish is more cookie, but it's cloying and way too sweet.</p><b><u><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghL_wnOnMQ5vjZoxnHUBMABeWc-mAaByFx39CvUklqp01XltkDo2pjgG-OI2DK2sTMiFzBB62MA6pBNQegEZUBfMLZfhK5n3wcRexRWXYE4xgoCz23TtlSLDRcSAIev7ZSQVNuX6GTq0-18Q2r8tuPHBuTbYuWDBPEwD-sxw8N2mWvgA9_5wU0tBWddjDx/s4000/BuzzBallz%20Cookie%20Nookie%20Cocktail.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghL_wnOnMQ5vjZoxnHUBMABeWc-mAaByFx39CvUklqp01XltkDo2pjgG-OI2DK2sTMiFzBB62MA6pBNQegEZUBfMLZfhK5n3wcRexRWXYE4xgoCz23TtlSLDRcSAIev7ZSQVNuX6GTq0-18Q2r8tuPHBuTbYuWDBPEwD-sxw8N2mWvgA9_5wU0tBWddjDx/w640-h360/BuzzBallz%20Cookie%20Nookie%20Cocktail.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />Bottom Line</u></b>: Sip it.<p></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;">2.5/5</span></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-54523183888367721392024-03-04T17:20:00.001-06:002024-03-04T17:20:22.837-06:00Deschutes "Symphonic Chronic" IPA<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLE3lyK8KTrB4-_S6ba8x86kUBGe7gkhYsLdKNJyM9P62o-ZFfUn8wxInke76Rv44zGTZEV3CDNwWmK9SGyOazVgAg5_YCnj7ndz-o6cnlWj_2GDDzzJ5WLTlrZKTGubCM4ECmBxAhOM-lw9gPL6Y08Meb8tEGz34Fq17-gHC6PjDLimOpgKd_Il9AT6_D/s3583/Deschutes%20Symphonic%20Chronic%20IPA%20(Social).jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2015" data-original-width="3583" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLE3lyK8KTrB4-_S6ba8x86kUBGe7gkhYsLdKNJyM9P62o-ZFfUn8wxInke76Rv44zGTZEV3CDNwWmK9SGyOazVgAg5_YCnj7ndz-o6cnlWj_2GDDzzJ5WLTlrZKTGubCM4ECmBxAhOM-lw9gPL6Y08Meb8tEGz34Fq17-gHC6PjDLimOpgKd_Il9AT6_D/w640-h360/Deschutes%20Symphonic%20Chronic%20IPA%20(Social).jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />Another gift from my <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Texas">Texas</a> sibling, and this is not one I would have picked out of a lineup. This puts dank front and center. Now, <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Deschutes">Deschutes</a> has had three excellent beers so far, and I think they should overshadow the two average and one not great beer they've had. <p></p><p>The beer isn't hazy, even though I expected it. The golden beer looks picturesque with the sticky white head that leaves tons of lacing on its way down. Maybe the dank won't be so intrusive as to cause issues. The aroma tells me that it might not. Yes, there is dank, but there is sweetness from oranges, tangerines, and pine trees. It doesn't smell great, but it has given me hope. </p><p>Fist sip is actually pretty bright at first with tropical over citrus and then pine comes in with dank following up behind. The issue is the taste left in the mouth - it's less of a taste and more of a sensation that the tongue has somehow been coated with dank. It's not the worst sip I've had, but it's not going to win any awards. </p><p>Tip-in is slight dank and pine with tropical fruits buried deeper than the carbonation which sizzles moderately. The middle becomes a horror of dank with carbonation absolutely assaulting the roof of the mouth and everything but the pine and dank disappearing completely. The finish is a sharp bitterness with dank all slobbering on it.</p><p><b><u></u></b></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><u><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-RP_qbu77oJICEXA0LXH6SFYDoEcLZXYxWvn18a0qy0t2yLZgCI86RCGRd_mNSMJWSEwnCfhSw3zKMFJtBcyX69sBhyphenhyphen3DDFkndt2UFbmWTYoTR9jMZsteAdgALXPe0QZQzXx_ifz1jZ3bN8Y26GQVDad_5rtueEfBKXtwLxVksHPjGCUg3rg4ZhqO5aRv/s4000/Deschutes%20Symphonic%20Chronic%20IPA.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-RP_qbu77oJICEXA0LXH6SFYDoEcLZXYxWvn18a0qy0t2yLZgCI86RCGRd_mNSMJWSEwnCfhSw3zKMFJtBcyX69sBhyphenhyphen3DDFkndt2UFbmWTYoTR9jMZsteAdgALXPe0QZQzXx_ifz1jZ3bN8Y26GQVDad_5rtueEfBKXtwLxVksHPjGCUg3rg4ZhqO5aRv/w640-h360/Deschutes%20Symphonic%20Chronic%20IPA.jpg" width="640" /></a></u></b></div><b><u><br />Bottom Line</u></b>: Not good.<p></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;">1.0/5</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiomLcSosz-pgRtEpoLhyphenhyphen4LIITn611YkLzEWeqfAxXh6Kn9e6uUu1p6b-GV_N5uVPoviO89XWn2KJlWcirDJM5neL2DblA8W_C3GShFGk2bCo1bj50O8PVlMkcKhu8-9essZAGW3uFrMW5AodaXHBPcpmx_BglTmxJex9G4Gu223I-ab5gG5yMUMrV3gq7/s1008/Capture.PNG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="665" data-original-width="1008" height="264" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiomLcSosz-pgRtEpoLhyphenhyphen4LIITn611YkLzEWeqfAxXh6Kn9e6uUu1p6b-GV_N5uVPoviO89XWn2KJlWcirDJM5neL2DblA8W_C3GShFGk2bCo1bj50O8PVlMkcKhu8-9essZAGW3uFrMW5AodaXHBPcpmx_BglTmxJex9G4Gu223I-ab5gG5yMUMrV3gq7/w400-h264/Capture.PNG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-42104314616156037082024-03-02T16:50:00.001-06:002024-03-02T16:50:23.963-06:00Green Man "Nerd Nectar" IPA<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiP4UoqjvwHvb0vBPsC8c3PRGo_ENZ6hF50a3ru5PQNDDSnxFwc_4ShBLTPZVfatU0IGVTnlNVvSBj7-m7UoKh8N-IXoh4mvhZNphQCPrje_q8ixgP55_MP4_Omu2O9b__1b28aeEb3Zdz2Y7YhAd9XoNa0RfqA8MgCVmd99J-rSeBlTifIF1RFq5fl7JE5/s1576/Green%20Man%20Nerd%20Nectar%20IPA%20(Social).jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="886" data-original-width="1576" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiP4UoqjvwHvb0vBPsC8c3PRGo_ENZ6hF50a3ru5PQNDDSnxFwc_4ShBLTPZVfatU0IGVTnlNVvSBj7-m7UoKh8N-IXoh4mvhZNphQCPrje_q8ixgP55_MP4_Omu2O9b__1b28aeEb3Zdz2Y7YhAd9XoNa0RfqA8MgCVmd99J-rSeBlTifIF1RFq5fl7JE5/w640-h360/Green%20Man%20Nerd%20Nectar%20IPA%20(Social).jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Green%20Man">Green Man</a> has a fairly overwhelmingly good record here. Their creepy face on the cans notwithstanding, they almost universally have good presentation and solid branding. This is branded for nerds, so I guess I'm the target audience, but it wasn't until I brought it home that I noticed that the design on the can might lean into dank pretty hard. Hey, there are <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2020/03/destihl-haze-of-dead-hazy-double-ipa.html">good beers</a> that have dankness to them, but it almost never works out as a primary focus. Maybe this won't focus on it. <p></p><p>The hay yellow beer produces a perfectly acceptable head that will leave a smidge of lacing as it reduces to a thin, complete cover over the beer. The aroma actually immediately turns me off of the beer. It is dank as all get-out, and the dank is mixing with flowers and... gah. This isn't appetizing. I think I wasted money on this beer. </p><p>First sip isn't as bad as the smell, but the dank is still too much. The flowers are also not as bad as the smell, and the beverage is unexpectedly sweet. Is it good? Urm... I don't know. I just had a sip, and I can't decide. Maybe it's because I was bracing for the horror of too much dank, and I wasn't prepared to actually taste it. Let me try another sip. Okay, it isn't as sweet the second time, and it oddly seems even more dank. No, it's not great so far. </p><p>Tip-in is mild carbonation burn with citrus fruits and a pall of dank hanging over everything. The middle grows with carbonation moving to the roof of the mouth and ... very little happening underneath it all; it's not flavorless, but it's not bursting with anything at all. The finish is dank and kinda icky.</p><b><u><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPISKS_T51aCEDxJnGhaSfrAE48qQyGGC51fLIn01FMYMXo7XAeS_xBetp7nMRPuZb7en4z0nw_hkfUNrxBN4AiNK9j1aEI7XFGrVGby1072auCLC6kXhTJU2Y_BEaZYDhHwEjz6MhTemDc2yxLxBqQkIl1sI67IdG1zopKdsLVGu0XGJ8s1KKRsizsdyw/s1576/Green%20Man%20Nerd%20Nectar%20IPA.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="886" data-original-width="1576" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPISKS_T51aCEDxJnGhaSfrAE48qQyGGC51fLIn01FMYMXo7XAeS_xBetp7nMRPuZb7en4z0nw_hkfUNrxBN4AiNK9j1aEI7XFGrVGby1072auCLC6kXhTJU2Y_BEaZYDhHwEjz6MhTemDc2yxLxBqQkIl1sI67IdG1zopKdsLVGu0XGJ8s1KKRsizsdyw/w640-h360/Green%20Man%20Nerd%20Nectar%20IPA.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />Bottom Line</u></b>: Not all nerds are stoners.<p></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;">0.75/5</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0eEX6gKZZrZ5bCe0w_E3rwc6V5eoZoHJxKTAHKqnC2wkBY6wDLL6FP4fW-_hQ8ZBZmrUblgm_Us1ab1DVH4cNbOGKe3PL2Wm8GTbXTbH5vAmKbb-Vuu1tQUoOEbNGdksJhy7BxEhlD4Xtspeq2dJsfW8ta671GobbdSRWO09eCYoMs8fdJ26ag7GOH7yF/s1009/Capture.PNG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="666" data-original-width="1009" height="264" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0eEX6gKZZrZ5bCe0w_E3rwc6V5eoZoHJxKTAHKqnC2wkBY6wDLL6FP4fW-_hQ8ZBZmrUblgm_Us1ab1DVH4cNbOGKe3PL2Wm8GTbXTbH5vAmKbb-Vuu1tQUoOEbNGdksJhy7BxEhlD4Xtspeq2dJsfW8ta671GobbdSRWO09eCYoMs8fdJ26ag7GOH7yF/w400-h264/Capture.PNG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-80917550686086476212024-03-01T16:38:00.002-06:002024-03-01T16:41:26.391-06:00Sugarland's "Brunch in a Jar Appalachian Sippin'" Cream<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_YlG5jczsJG7LNpER86qb6M5QGV4XDrlWgS_pM4AGGNv9E_Cpy_l16dXABuClShFmJLp64ZwCK2UnIFYEpzh-4ti2_roTi8LdMOPpHIIwEhWdPJZ9gBGCcg4gC1tpFp42uGiV4OTXBHLOxBI-u56isg5wr4GytBbMEQ65vnTZzL_lwyA_QYFDSRYvO_Uu/s4000/Sugarland's%20Brunch%20in%20a%20Jar%20Appalachian%20Sippin'%20Cream%20(Social).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_YlG5jczsJG7LNpER86qb6M5QGV4XDrlWgS_pM4AGGNv9E_Cpy_l16dXABuClShFmJLp64ZwCK2UnIFYEpzh-4ti2_roTi8LdMOPpHIIwEhWdPJZ9gBGCcg4gC1tpFp42uGiV4OTXBHLOxBI-u56isg5wr4GytBbMEQ65vnTZzL_lwyA_QYFDSRYvO_Uu/w640-h360/Sugarland's%20Brunch%20in%20a%20Jar%20Appalachian%20Sippin'%20Cream%20(Social).jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />This was the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Moonshine">moonshine</a> I intended to buy whatever I picked up the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2023/12/sugarlands-eggo-nog-appalachian-sippin.html">nog</a>. Strangely, I went back to the same store after conversing with the owner via text and explaining to him that I wanted the Brunch in a Jar, not the nog. He assured me that they had the right stuff. I went back, and I got it. It turns out, it was more of the nog. I should have read the jar a little closer. Well, I went to a different store, and I found this one. When I was told about this by a coworker, I immediately predicted that this was going to effectively be a maple syrup flavored <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Cream">cream</a>. I've had maple syrup flavored moonshine <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2018/04/old-forge-french-toast-moonshine.html">before</a>, and I'm not sure what adding the cream will do. I don't even know if my prediction is right.<p></p><p>As soon as I open the jar, I am reassured that my prediction is going to be correct. Maple syrup positively radiates from the cream, and the aerosolization as a result of the pour just increases the amount of maple syrup that I can smell. It is a little darker than most of the other hard creams, and that makes it significantly darker than regular cream. Other than that, there isn't much to say about the presentation. It looks like dark cream, and it smells like maple syrup.</p><p>I didn't think that they would manage to get anything that tasted like waffles into this beverage. First sip has proven me wrong. There is a bread element that I do not know where it's coming from, but it is self-evident. There is also an interesting tanginess to the flavor that really goes a step beyond even just emulating waffles and syrup. While the alcohol is evident, it is not overpowering, and the sweet syrup on sweet waffles is actually particularly enjoyable. I'm not sure that I can go for any more than just one glass for sipping, but I can see enjoying this on multiple occasions. I wonder how this would do if I had ever wanted to actually have an adult beverage in the morning.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDU2CRFYYDkHbR3WjJYzSw5dCQqxDEHaBh1HIvQgkwvyzQPmIMqR25vjNgKCW8gLtx86sRjY7pWtG3rLRP_b6Wza0rlU-yMAmyV_jNTk1cFk63zfTtb5TEpmWJWhoRqtMUaGc_QbFYjWTTpQXyPpL8KKtHY6T9X0EhdtBWa43TCUL6jmSqRj9Yh4_RQP2D/s4000/Sugarland's%20Brunch%20in%20a%20Jar%20Appalachian%20Sippin'%20Cream.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDU2CRFYYDkHbR3WjJYzSw5dCQqxDEHaBh1HIvQgkwvyzQPmIMqR25vjNgKCW8gLtx86sRjY7pWtG3rLRP_b6Wza0rlU-yMAmyV_jNTk1cFk63zfTtb5TEpmWJWhoRqtMUaGc_QbFYjWTTpQXyPpL8KKtHY6T9X0EhdtBWa43TCUL6jmSqRj9Yh4_RQP2D/w640-h360/Sugarland's%20Brunch%20in%20a%20Jar%20Appalachian%20Sippin'%20Cream.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><b><u>Bottom Line</u></b>: It's a gimmick, but it's a good un.<p></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;">3.75/5</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmEB4YV5FCjllj58VOZyJZ5lo3n5xtXKpHS1xzO0CBN65_5jhdW_H8c5Jila8OxZKkETAFWm9S6_jHAvNONRUfsridxgtHwiAZ67EKni5dhT16tBkH7fa2ZugdBuPvpnNEAPTTP_E9CQbaxsaGgjUokrGScRzAUQprqir3gkNcYwT-6IDl8HlbL14IYuav/s1010/Capture.PNG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="665" data-original-width="1010" height="264" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmEB4YV5FCjllj58VOZyJZ5lo3n5xtXKpHS1xzO0CBN65_5jhdW_H8c5Jila8OxZKkETAFWm9S6_jHAvNONRUfsridxgtHwiAZ67EKni5dhT16tBkH7fa2ZugdBuPvpnNEAPTTP_E9CQbaxsaGgjUokrGScRzAUQprqir3gkNcYwT-6IDl8HlbL14IYuav/w400-h264/Capture.PNG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-5518130544063913822024-02-28T21:20:00.000-06:002024-02-28T21:20:26.582-06:00Green Man IPA<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhp-tB9cI4-e1Nu1aBIYT-ysrvxX4W_WxMnLqluT2vLkSjKoGtk2RGmNwwQK1EwlDJqdVyg_L7QkveENBltINeboDDzk5Gdj_4WQ94PntzV9sYRH_-3f_lgUy07NkW7qdNr5FoQju3YQcjq41a52EQKy-i4JsAsAeqXuKkLFlXypui_Sl_4gqW_wi5RRFmJ/s4667/Green%20Man%20IPA%20(Social).jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2625" data-original-width="4667" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhp-tB9cI4-e1Nu1aBIYT-ysrvxX4W_WxMnLqluT2vLkSjKoGtk2RGmNwwQK1EwlDJqdVyg_L7QkveENBltINeboDDzk5Gdj_4WQ94PntzV9sYRH_-3f_lgUy07NkW7qdNr5FoQju3YQcjq41a52EQKy-i4JsAsAeqXuKkLFlXypui_Sl_4gqW_wi5RRFmJ/w640-h360/Green%20Man%20IPA%20(Social).jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />I have had a few <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/IPA">IPAs</a> from <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Green%20Man">Green Man</a> before, and they were okay. Genuinely, I don't even remember them. This one is, supposedly, not the same as those beers. This one doesn't have any special name to it other than that it is an IPA. Should I be wary about the fact that they didn't bother to brand the beer? Should I laud the fact that they trusted this beer enough that it would be entirely associated with their brand without a specific nomenclature or sub brand for it? I don't know any of these things. <p></p><p>When I went back and looked at the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search?q=trickster">Trickster</a> IPA, I saw that I had reviewed it twice. Once it was in a bottle, and once it was in a can. The bottle looked much, much darker than the beer that was in the can. I can't tell you why. This beer looks like it is as dark as the one that was in the bottle, and it's possibly darker. It is certainly hazier than either of them. I have definitely never had a beer this exact shade of burnt orange from Green Man. The head is relatively average on this one, and it doesn't look like it's going to be leaving much lacing. The aroma is bread, flowers, and fruits. There may be a little caramel tossed in for good measure.</p><p>First sip is not spectacular. It feels like they tried to go to heavy on the malt, and the problem is that the hops are fighting themselves. Pine and floral hops have overwhelmed anything that has any resemblance to fruit. The result is a muddled taste followed by a bunch of bitterness. I took an un-customary second sip, and it didn't get better. I was sure that it was just a shock to my taste buds, and any subsequent sip would be smooth and more enjoyable. It just isn't the case. Maybe a swig will win this one.</p><p>Tip-in is furious carbonation burn with a cracker malt that is soggy and stale, but it has flowers on it so... hops? The middle is where this beer should really start to shine, but it feels like it gets worse; bitterness pervades while carbonation stings and flowers and pine try to make themselves known over the significant din. The finish keeps the bitterness, flowers, and pine, but the carbonation finally goes away as bitterness clings to life for the trail off.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9MEgsQBKCFb0W3kzqWFEloeNTiRcJz4EjtiZLedVr-a8V-5gKOXkauraJWgkZVkEXlSkKN2prxm5R5oH4Bx_BEMJGAEuFWLoQmlHbStjvArDs85TX_ImJrVUZBOBQkU19o3AWCJapd49p01cimcCXgA_OhIWjNKFfmFLqYOGA5uYuIBRcWyx58uAqVhLc/s4000/Green%20Man%20IPA.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9MEgsQBKCFb0W3kzqWFEloeNTiRcJz4EjtiZLedVr-a8V-5gKOXkauraJWgkZVkEXlSkKN2prxm5R5oH4Bx_BEMJGAEuFWLoQmlHbStjvArDs85TX_ImJrVUZBOBQkU19o3AWCJapd49p01cimcCXgA_OhIWjNKFfmFLqYOGA5uYuIBRcWyx58uAqVhLc/w640-h360/Green%20Man%20IPA.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><b><u>Bottom Line</u></b>: A genuine stinker.<p></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;">1.0/5</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhph0tF7CyohZ90FWZiMfvODBO1Et4qy4kIAi23cDClARuT_UznI2VTwGhUt285n60JBnel_gdJJYXIiHB4AkaVqHgA9r8QebKtMhoYZVSaVmRqNliiwJ_yu1PyLbvcYHCYQxe9yf2NAvVJYnw3jPiNaFLlJFJpcQL9_N45RnQEaDBTCU_TW5KtYnOL0bHF/s1008/Capture.PNG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="666" data-original-width="1008" height="264" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhph0tF7CyohZ90FWZiMfvODBO1Et4qy4kIAi23cDClARuT_UznI2VTwGhUt285n60JBnel_gdJJYXIiHB4AkaVqHgA9r8QebKtMhoYZVSaVmRqNliiwJ_yu1PyLbvcYHCYQxe9yf2NAvVJYnw3jPiNaFLlJFJpcQL9_N45RnQEaDBTCU_TW5KtYnOL0bHF/w400-h264/Capture.PNG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-74766525948611731052024-02-27T20:07:00.001-06:002024-02-27T20:07:21.458-06:00New Belgium "Voodoo Ranger - Hardcharged" Iced Tea<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD0fJCpbbxjUs-kEBSsobPShwNCZpLZITuT9awNOru8wl7wg2Fi-__KfkBvtpOLCUVB_OyE8eB6YNIokYda9A3phduwYExUtexuaFCoec_4ei70EBTUje06C2pEzwyeSiiCKsjXjP63T3S1K8LY3osBhPYI4v5-ohAABGqb6s8mHQKjQtHVpZhJvol0i52/s5333/New%20Belgium%20Voodoo%20Ranger%20-%20Hardcharged%20Iced%20Tea%20(Socail).jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3000" data-original-width="5333" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD0fJCpbbxjUs-kEBSsobPShwNCZpLZITuT9awNOru8wl7wg2Fi-__KfkBvtpOLCUVB_OyE8eB6YNIokYda9A3phduwYExUtexuaFCoec_4ei70EBTUje06C2pEzwyeSiiCKsjXjP63T3S1K8LY3osBhPYI4v5-ohAABGqb6s8mHQKjQtHVpZhJvol0i52/w640-h360/New%20Belgium%20Voodoo%20Ranger%20-%20Hardcharged%20Iced%20Tea%20(Socail).jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />This isn't charged. This is hard charged! At <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/ABV%207.0%25">7% ABV</a>, it's going to be difficult to hide the alcohol in this tea. I would like to talk about that, but I find myself wondering, again, what the heck <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/New%20Belgium">New Belgium</a> is doing with their branding. They haven't changed all of their beer over to Voodoo Ranger, so I thought it was just a sub brand of beer. Instead, they are also applying it to non-beer adult beverage products. I don't know if they're just trying to catch the momentum of Voodoo Ranger with this <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Hard%20Iced%20Tea">hard iced tea</a>, and why they wouldn't have done the same thing with the beers that they produce that are not under this label. I would really like to have a long conversation with someone in charge there. <p></p><p>It pours darker than regular tea, and there is a slight red hue to it that isn't there on regular tea. That said, I don't have to complain that someone has added carbonation to a beverage that doesn't need it. The aroma is pretty much tea, but it has a slight hint of alcohol around the outsides. For what it's worth, the presentation is exactly what I want to find a hard tea. These guys might've cracked it (not that there haven't been some <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2023/12/twisted-tea-half-and-half-iced-tea.html">good</a> ones).</p><p>First sip is lemon tea. It is tea that reminds me of the Turner's Tea that they sell in cardboard containers. It's slightly sweeter than that, and it's flavor is a bit more full, but the alcohol is relatively undetectable. I could see sipping this all night long and not even thinking about the fact that I'm drinking an adult beverage. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. </p><p>Tip-in is moderate sugar sweetness and tea leaves; It's shocking that this is so much like... tea. The middle, like the beginning, gives up virtually nothing about this being anything other than a can of tea with lemon flavor added. The finish is where I can finally detect some alcohol. As usual, they don't bother to tell us what kind of alcohol is actually in the beverage, and maybe it's just as well we don't know. However, that finish and the subsequent trail off are stark reminders that this has more alcohol than your average <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/IPA">IPA</a>.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7FzRza0h9TqAgWplFFPHlK1TTHq-z46KhMQdlImxFrdJVHikXFp5PMNqH3LcKF4gAxWWDUOpNUOL2R76MQE-uAPhMtjiVxQOzrhT90f-d3p1R-QNuTFqusfKJBA5WTgHJNhUjAZ-4pKA1z0ysBhQh4xnO5723n6_SOaCikpfDrhMi8bJcNbmIX66dBZEJ/s4000/New%20Belgium%20Voodoo%20Ranger%20-%20Hardcharged%20Iced%20Tea.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7FzRza0h9TqAgWplFFPHlK1TTHq-z46KhMQdlImxFrdJVHikXFp5PMNqH3LcKF4gAxWWDUOpNUOL2R76MQE-uAPhMtjiVxQOzrhT90f-d3p1R-QNuTFqusfKJBA5WTgHJNhUjAZ-4pKA1z0ysBhQh4xnO5723n6_SOaCikpfDrhMi8bJcNbmIX66dBZEJ/w640-h360/New%20Belgium%20Voodoo%20Ranger%20-%20Hardcharged%20Iced%20Tea.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><b><u>Bottom Line</u></b>: It's hard not to like this iced tea. <p></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;">3.75/5</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2sFeLYaKHhtxUVlarcmW_d6pZj3vhNrbyw0jiLawJbOihlxgkclThFdUaBozpPNhHNC0bB7voxVY1sHOg0KGxdzI7GK5hZv9yieFYzrWzCKoEYzr07pEqRPqzaD9-h7EzL_4n8IsFKV7GLTh5-BPloFwONfcb8NkXgu1vwcqIKmUEWZkgbMxyV1xunb0u/s1011/Capture.PNG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="667" data-original-width="1011" height="264" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2sFeLYaKHhtxUVlarcmW_d6pZj3vhNrbyw0jiLawJbOihlxgkclThFdUaBozpPNhHNC0bB7voxVY1sHOg0KGxdzI7GK5hZv9yieFYzrWzCKoEYzr07pEqRPqzaD9-h7EzL_4n8IsFKV7GLTh5-BPloFwONfcb8NkXgu1vwcqIKmUEWZkgbMxyV1xunb0u/w400-h264/Capture.PNG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-35333740739654024352024-02-26T21:41:00.002-06:002024-02-26T21:41:56.116-06:00Founders "All Day Chill Day" IPA<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEin4Yp9A5v3hQ6H5VG1EMlRdrjC1HHfF78P466IwAWq7mHDS1_yDQO6NuwSxq6fVLFlWKy2ixKaAY9Hb7ULo-uwBhLsz3vFFa0vzNDdzfKS3zkMeGbndgMJnmzfoqxyN7SG9KQjcULYbTRMapmdey1DY9v0QTGsc5ENHkAFZ-eMYTv3boh83spD22S8axfW/s1537/Founders%20All%20Day%20Chill%20Day%20IPA%20(Social).jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="865" data-original-width="1537" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEin4Yp9A5v3hQ6H5VG1EMlRdrjC1HHfF78P466IwAWq7mHDS1_yDQO6NuwSxq6fVLFlWKy2ixKaAY9Hb7ULo-uwBhLsz3vFFa0vzNDdzfKS3zkMeGbndgMJnmzfoqxyN7SG9KQjcULYbTRMapmdey1DY9v0QTGsc5ENHkAFZ-eMYTv3boh83spD22S8axfW/w640-h360/Founders%20All%20Day%20Chill%20Day%20IPA%20(Social).jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />I was going to start this post with a treatise on the invention of new names and new categories of beer and the way that this reduces the average consumer's ability to enjoy a beverage or even just select one from the aisle. I was going to. However, here's the thing about a cold <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/IPA">IPA</a>: I'm kinda into it. Basically, it is my understanding that these things are brewed extra cold, and that should give them a crisper taste in general with more muted hops while still maintaining a relatively high ABV. Once you decide to make this a <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Session">session</a> cold IPA, you are now reducing the ABV, but it's still going to be an ale, so I should still be getting more hops and less malt with something that's easy drinking. Let's see what this combo really brings me.</div><div><br /></div><div>The pale yellow beer could easily be confused for a <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Lager">lager</a>. Once poured, the torrent of bubbles coming from the points of nucleation in the depths of the beer replenish a head that never really goes away. Instead, I'm treated to almost a half inch of thick, dense foam on top of my beer. There may not be any lacing in its wake, but this head is here to play. The aroma is relatively faint, and I actually got bubbles on my nose as I tried to sniff it. Nevertheless, there is lemon somewhere under there, and I suspect there will be plenty of other flavors to enjoy.</div><div><br /></div><div>First sip is really smooth, really crisp, and it has enough flavors to keep it going. It's got citrus, tropical, and surprising floral tastes going on. There is a bitterness on the backend, and the malt is bread, but it's very shy. As a result, those hops are bringing the flavor, but they are more gentle than watered-down in a way that makes this beer easy to drink, and I wish it was summer right now. Unfortunately, it's a pretty cold day outside, and I'm stuck in here wearing a sweatshirt. I can't blame that on <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Founders">Founders</a>.</div><div><br /></div><div>Tip-in is mild carbonation with lemons and wheatgrass - not unlike the start of a <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Pilsner">pilsner</a>. The middle brings flowers and some tropical fruits to join the lemon while carbonation stays relatively under the radar. The bottom brings bitterness with a cold, crisp snap before leaving lemon peels and flowers for the trail off.</div><div><br /></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixtzTtTGdjL0vs5TB7pvaYYggorM7ANFpYfLzhtOTy99FNZ9h3a4Hlb2OIWw-bswj9bS3NENMjeJKGO6paffK64SLXXKDHkoEhNHouOPLSbrcj2-LQz_qSjH1kHe-Rv33r49lHN00ZPpc9RcZCdA5oR18z0uA-F4hyouHW1ouLPp9Y2zHf6R5U08hYg_ST/s1537/Founders%20All%20Day%20Chill%20Day%20IPA.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="865" data-original-width="1537" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixtzTtTGdjL0vs5TB7pvaYYggorM7ANFpYfLzhtOTy99FNZ9h3a4Hlb2OIWw-bswj9bS3NENMjeJKGO6paffK64SLXXKDHkoEhNHouOPLSbrcj2-LQz_qSjH1kHe-Rv33r49lHN00ZPpc9RcZCdA5oR18z0uA-F4hyouHW1ouLPp9Y2zHf6R5U08hYg_ST/w640-h360/Founders%20All%20Day%20Chill%20Day%20IPA.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><b><u>Bottom Line</u></b>: An easy drinking, easy finishing beer that would probably appreciate friends to help you drink it.</div><div><br /></div><div><span style="font-size: x-large;">3.0/5</span></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRU9eMDiXmd4hZ43lF736qJQnYAXXt4H4eJCvvlCbnHF9ghnp9rMhnK9egxnL_fv0-0d0L2SHirb508pGoP7VN9Er1mNpQG02OiNRnzVKks3XU2UECChvkKxrdXBEyoTsb_1q2_IeG7sXLUVO45q0WdRHYvxJ2K1fJT01fefjUvK-AnUW8h4YD4W5rU9vj/s904/Capture.PNG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="595" data-original-width="904" height="264" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRU9eMDiXmd4hZ43lF736qJQnYAXXt4H4eJCvvlCbnHF9ghnp9rMhnK9egxnL_fv0-0d0L2SHirb508pGoP7VN9Er1mNpQG02OiNRnzVKks3XU2UECChvkKxrdXBEyoTsb_1q2_IeG7sXLUVO45q0WdRHYvxJ2K1fJT01fefjUvK-AnUW8h4YD4W5rU9vj/w400-h264/Capture.PNG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-32890005411537962612024-02-23T17:34:00.000-06:002024-02-23T17:34:13.390-06:00Destihl "Tourbus" IPA<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9XzNCK41fp4ctcImVSTpyDtx9u5Y1sJ0XZc_hUVhLJoFBOFQiIk79IIfYiOzcOe0fV3jealMYXZukxwyb28VcOiRRpsx-fKEDT1t0xNvT8Y6FEscbnXh_KThQIRi9sKmCoejiaKr2Bm9He9Ri_JMrjQjR4q5oVOi4zPKnchhDr1LaiqFGL-buksUJ9LD7/s1537/Destihl%20Tourbus%20IPA%20(Social).jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="865" data-original-width="1537" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9XzNCK41fp4ctcImVSTpyDtx9u5Y1sJ0XZc_hUVhLJoFBOFQiIk79IIfYiOzcOe0fV3jealMYXZukxwyb28VcOiRRpsx-fKEDT1t0xNvT8Y6FEscbnXh_KThQIRi9sKmCoejiaKr2Bm9He9Ri_JMrjQjR4q5oVOi4zPKnchhDr1LaiqFGL-buksUJ9LD7/w640-h360/Destihl%20Tourbus%20IPA%20(Social).jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p>Another beer from my brother. Until I looked at this can, I was unaware that there even <i>was </i>a <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Destihl">Deadhead</a> series. I appear to have had a few of them, but I didn't know this was a limited theme. I thought that was just the vibe they were going with. The only outlier was the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2022/10/destihl-weissenheimer-hefeweizen-ale.html">Weissenheimer</a> which looked a lot like the design of the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Hutton%20%26%20Smith">Hutton & Smith</a> cans (although they are unrelated).</p><p>The can says this is hazy, and I can't disagree. The orange-yellow beer is thick as anything else, and the white head is pretty tame. What isn't tame is the aroma, and it reflects the Dead Head on the front with a heavy dankness that is mixed in with citrus. This says it was double dry hopped, and I wouldn't be surprised to find out it was triple dry hopped. The hops are strong with this one, and no one should attempt to deny it. </p><p>First sip is filled with character. It lets you know what it's about. It fills the room with its opinions about taste. How many of these phrases that don't actually say anything will I use? It is dank. I have found that dank can have a place in beer, but its place is never to be front and center. It's like coffee in that it can add to the enjoyment of a beer in very small quantities and if it is relegated to a supporting cast member. This one is really too strong, but that might just be for the sip.</p><p>Tip-in is strangely sweet with a little dank, but citrus is featured up front and carbonation is an afterthought. The middle brings stronger carbonation, but it's not nuts, as the hops are nice and smooth with citrus and some tropical fruits doing enjoyable things. The finish brings the dank blanket down on the party, and then it won't let go until everything is done. Even then, it's not leaving.</p><p>After a little warmth gets into the beer, it really mellows and gets a <b>lot</b> better.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkHwwAYobzcTEOMRB_-QcDl5-E39rkPNfSI0f_kJoG3-s-LFhmQeKq6J2VZij3Cs85t3eQ0YiHY3FcUksVb0sdGy8bjG-V-i_m2ly1XFTdMfmQgQHd7J0Ny8I9IPbNkss0e4wXiJ-nW9PeOxvfOCLvVptPQWkLNGtiqQhJnmDmpkYE4ixeNV0HKcxNVfOO/s1537/Destihl%20Tourbus%20IPA.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="865" data-original-width="1537" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkHwwAYobzcTEOMRB_-QcDl5-E39rkPNfSI0f_kJoG3-s-LFhmQeKq6J2VZij3Cs85t3eQ0YiHY3FcUksVb0sdGy8bjG-V-i_m2ly1XFTdMfmQgQHd7J0Ny8I9IPbNkss0e4wXiJ-nW9PeOxvfOCLvVptPQWkLNGtiqQhJnmDmpkYE4ixeNV0HKcxNVfOO/w640-h360/Destihl%20Tourbus%20IPA.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p><b><u>Bottom Line</u></b>: Brilliance hampered by stoners.</p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;">2.75/5</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggEh0zSeO1A8hHPd-KJkAz4RRnZ5EtCBuFJ4QcHOWsAFPO5nsNUFSMqkdgNzHigJHrn0gdfL8lRwpiec_4Rp0tWP1qAoj5a5IxvmnUFGEFnzWQk9BH4MQ4KgOfhyphenhyphenJI6VF_j-2x_SLoDDEo6rUbDZJ4F5dGRCEPl7w3_3qaoW8B67_QTiOfnFo_VWMXIQdg/s1009/Capture.PNG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="666" data-original-width="1009" height="264" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggEh0zSeO1A8hHPd-KJkAz4RRnZ5EtCBuFJ4QcHOWsAFPO5nsNUFSMqkdgNzHigJHrn0gdfL8lRwpiec_4Rp0tWP1qAoj5a5IxvmnUFGEFnzWQk9BH4MQ4KgOfhyphenhyphenJI6VF_j-2x_SLoDDEo6rUbDZJ4F5dGRCEPl7w3_3qaoW8B67_QTiOfnFo_VWMXIQdg/w400-h264/Capture.PNG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-61263088235231719092024-02-22T19:46:00.001-06:002024-02-22T19:46:03.058-06:00St. Brendan's "Salted Caramel" Irish Cream<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUI4aVWovOxnYnQ6II6c4gS4D7fdCWKKHkceJhhlbXcqbb-gW5RpJMAVWO5F2lPTmxdG0KxTrkiPvHkaWfOpLTaKczmfCuctIPbA0PS6bxDgU_VpsWi8hB9Ay7QZ_IpTpTJ2rD1LkxyhfvIktVsYfQb-TJY1x4aFyiBMsB3xLiCmFJzH8tVRl3Nj33Pkcv/s4000/St.%20Brendan's%20Salted%20Caramel%20Irish%20Cream%20(Social).jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUI4aVWovOxnYnQ6II6c4gS4D7fdCWKKHkceJhhlbXcqbb-gW5RpJMAVWO5F2lPTmxdG0KxTrkiPvHkaWfOpLTaKczmfCuctIPbA0PS6bxDgU_VpsWi8hB9Ay7QZ_IpTpTJ2rD1LkxyhfvIktVsYfQb-TJY1x4aFyiBMsB3xLiCmFJzH8tVRl3Nj33Pkcv/w640-h360/St.%20Brendan's%20Salted%20Caramel%20Irish%20Cream%20(Social).jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p>2020 was hundreds of years ago. It was a different time, and it was a different reality that we all lived in. Who knows, maybe some of you reading this never lived in 2020, but it was a nightmarish hell scape of a year. I'm going to blame 2020 for my not actually remembering what I did or did not like about <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2020/08/saint-brendans-irish-cream.html">St. Brendan's</a> Irish Cream. The original, unflavored cream appears to have done very well in my tasting, and it got a <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Rating%204.0">4.0/5</a>. That puts it in the same ballpark, generally, as <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2019/10/baileys-original-irish-cream.html">Baileys</a>. If it had gotten a quarter of a step more, it would have been in the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Excellent">excellent</a> category, but instead it was just <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Great">great</a>. Here's the thing though: great is a significantly better than <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Average">average</a> category to be in. Maybe adding a little salted caramel will give us that extra quarter of a point, either way.</p><p>It appears to be the exact same color as the non-salted caramel version of the same cream. Obviously, it's going to have the same texture, as it's still just cream. I can smell the caramel on top of the cream, and the light chocolate is mixing with it in a very pleasing and soothing way. I remember this having a bit of vanilla to it, and I'm not smelling it, but I am looking forward to tasting it.</p><p>First sip is smooth as glass, sweet as candy, and the salt at the end really gives it a little something that many of these other flavored <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Cream">creams</a> don't have. Will he give it that extra quarter of the point? Probably. Honestly, this is really good. Even at <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/ABV%2017.0%25">17% ABV</a>, I can barely taste the alcohol, and this would be very nice to sit down and relax with, just like its sibling was.</p><p>I keep sipping, and I keep coming to the same conclusion. This is a very good <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Liqueur">liqueur</a>, and I think it is certainly within fighting distance of all of the Baileys flavors. In fact, it surpasses at least a <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2020/11/baileys-chocolate-cherry-irish-cream.html">few</a> of them. I mean, if you're going to have as many flavors as Baileys does, you're eventually going to have some that can't stand up to your competitors. I like that both places are trying, and I'm winning in the end.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhc35q6XE5T2SAX3Z_9xPcjturrYdFYbks2csdkQk9XAyrqdT8NnmY0gFOseJSFc5GBxYtqWH8KI5H4y4uZEpxe-jWaPIQGwxCKwZM4vuKWWB_9IpUFmJY4M6tiTCPx5nSalOd_zndIZxKsGPSMMVjUY3L2sIbVOSy5r9Hp8RE23OUK-ps0XkUMaDGg7cd_/s4000/St.%20Brendan's%20Salted%20Caramel%20Irish%20Cream.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhc35q6XE5T2SAX3Z_9xPcjturrYdFYbks2csdkQk9XAyrqdT8NnmY0gFOseJSFc5GBxYtqWH8KI5H4y4uZEpxe-jWaPIQGwxCKwZM4vuKWWB_9IpUFmJY4M6tiTCPx5nSalOd_zndIZxKsGPSMMVjUY3L2sIbVOSy5r9Hp8RE23OUK-ps0XkUMaDGg7cd_/w640-h360/St.%20Brendan's%20Salted%20Caramel%20Irish%20Cream.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p><b><u>Bottom Line</u></b>: There's a reason that man is a saint.</p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;">4.25/5</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8-REvgmyuSh9qZGnfbbWWvBsBnkk4Y1MSY3Rh3eOsANbTFHA4xV6H1dWfiQ1hcL-QZ2EK-AumyFfayNMhWbF2sN30CpwYVSqJwH6z6TMDdOfKaI6IEQZ5NWGqps8p6EBeaPW-qJJizdxo4hsTDKBankOOD9gUETQk0L20KHXsLf9FUZdqXJiLxaCVkhYO/s1009/Capture.PNG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="664" data-original-width="1009" height="264" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8-REvgmyuSh9qZGnfbbWWvBsBnkk4Y1MSY3Rh3eOsANbTFHA4xV6H1dWfiQ1hcL-QZ2EK-AumyFfayNMhWbF2sN30CpwYVSqJwH6z6TMDdOfKaI6IEQZ5NWGqps8p6EBeaPW-qJJizdxo4hsTDKBankOOD9gUETQk0L20KHXsLf9FUZdqXJiLxaCVkhYO/w400-h264/Capture.PNG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-70753914351296446762024-02-20T18:41:00.001-06:002024-02-20T18:41:09.855-06:00New Belgium "Voodoo Ranger - Cryo Ranger" IPA<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilX7evJ3U9ep2jB-dlectp10M3JTXYxIQ_7gSMpP1ZN2qDW_lHP5Pq1fLUAk0BsA82znqfHKt-pjJHFE2pseSvOlpnKGPM-m6Up9tSN1CVthdndVuorzBrVz1XWowgJmwjA41kAoY-7zGIaICvQ57lEihukcUsrhQsYLIkuhxmsTGPqreO2wbU-_W7Pogi/s4000/New%20Belgium%20Voodoo%20Ranger%20-%20Cryo%20Ranger%20IPA%20(Social).jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilX7evJ3U9ep2jB-dlectp10M3JTXYxIQ_7gSMpP1ZN2qDW_lHP5Pq1fLUAk0BsA82znqfHKt-pjJHFE2pseSvOlpnKGPM-m6Up9tSN1CVthdndVuorzBrVz1XWowgJmwjA41kAoY-7zGIaICvQ57lEihukcUsrhQsYLIkuhxmsTGPqreO2wbU-_W7Pogi/w640-h360/New%20Belgium%20Voodoo%20Ranger%20-%20Cryo%20Ranger%20IPA%20(Social).jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />I thought I had tried all of the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/New%20Belgium">New Belgium</a> beers that were under the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Voodoo%20Ranger">Voodoo Ranger</a> umbrella. Either I missed one, or they came out with another one. In any event, I have something to review tonight. I genuinely can't remember if I liked most of these, was just kind of okay with them, or didn't particularly like them. I think this goes to show that they made very little impression. That's generally not good. Let's see if this is any good.<div><br /><div>The beer pours and only slightly hazy gold with a minimal off-white cap that never completely leaves the top of the beer, and it leaves a thin but patchy covering across the top with notable lacing on the sides. The aroma is citrus - most notably lemon. I don't know why, but the aroma puts me in mind of the the flavored <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Seltzer">seltzers</a> I've had recently. Maybe it's because this doesn't really smell very much like beer. Instead, it smells sweet.</div><div><br /></div><div>First sip tastes like beer. It is a very mild beer, especially for an <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/IPA">IPA</a>. Especially for an IPA with a <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/ABV%207.8%25">significant</a> ABV. The fruits are up front, and they are mostly meat, but there isn't as much to them as you might expect. As a result, the heavy fruit becomes light and effervescent with the ability to be consumed either quickly or simply enjoyed sip after sip. It's not taxing on the taste buds, and that is still surprising based on the ABV.</div><div><br /></div><div>Tip-in is light fruits of the citrus variety with carbonation very gently caressing the tongue. The middle sprouts into rougher carbonation throughout the mouth, sweet fruit, and bitterness right around the edges. The finish does away with the carbonation in favor of dryness added to the bitterness before the fruity, bitter trail off.</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4i8bGGlTdbqzZVgFeXYA38RsfZBX59gvWA-JzbS7_rHu_yuZ4BhO7RJjHBqY-zxgtvvZXZg6Is4ejc7FUczu_J5oD8l1Ryq4E_R67jjIH2JHE_ekDv4OyUQY2WKu2Csc09OdrZDmbeEw15wIIeZNVn7XUJXnI8BVIQ9LuKRfAUKND7T1v7GZc5BKe4w-J/s4000/New%20Belgium%20Voodoo%20Ranger%20-%20Cryo%20Ranger%20IPA.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4i8bGGlTdbqzZVgFeXYA38RsfZBX59gvWA-JzbS7_rHu_yuZ4BhO7RJjHBqY-zxgtvvZXZg6Is4ejc7FUczu_J5oD8l1Ryq4E_R67jjIH2JHE_ekDv4OyUQY2WKu2Csc09OdrZDmbeEw15wIIeZNVn7XUJXnI8BVIQ9LuKRfAUKND7T1v7GZc5BKe4w-J/w640-h360/New%20Belgium%20Voodoo%20Ranger%20-%20Cryo%20Ranger%20IPA.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div><b><u>Bottom Line</u></b>: Very, very forgettable.</div><div><br /></div><div><span style="font-size: x-large;">2.25/5</span></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTSHYeHWiYs2Q1-MI3cFxq8iiCLjomz0BqPZp8__8_OekrRkZ4sHe8kaOYDtrzZy9aTTj6ZNAWWYi2ZJTTtRe7UHpdhjekuu5cCD-xUT7yqVfNJOB5Z-qTkW4nSprqudrcKmsfQ7O2jB6JHBodgK6Ud8d8C6MD3cu0Fp89DNR_wg0pU8ydh8OuEa9fWwOc/s1010/Capture.PNG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="666" data-original-width="1010" height="264" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTSHYeHWiYs2Q1-MI3cFxq8iiCLjomz0BqPZp8__8_OekrRkZ4sHe8kaOYDtrzZy9aTTj6ZNAWWYi2ZJTTtRe7UHpdhjekuu5cCD-xUT7yqVfNJOB5Z-qTkW4nSprqudrcKmsfQ7O2jB6JHBodgK6Ud8d8C6MD3cu0Fp89DNR_wg0pU8ydh8OuEa9fWwOc/w400-h264/Capture.PNG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-80005717453097334082024-02-18T20:58:00.001-06:002024-02-18T20:58:56.393-06:00Woo Shine "Strawberry Lemonade" Moonshine<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoo_-rT13j1wYC1Rvln3KQMucL_kkk0cc2Uv8bPH9QfALS8mKymNRkvhyphenhyphenmw5H34E0f16qUZmywA09rng9T9BEsZypJeRXlJu8qJzi5Fe1jHKKnBgLWrSSIQNdwJyoJVC1zzW0XptrYcQAidh7SQV01kEPkR_XcWqUwQsJTiwaIKST9QPh4RaSxbceK37CQ/s1567/Woo%20Shine%20Strawberry%20Lemonade%20Moonshine%20(Social).jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="881" data-original-width="1567" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoo_-rT13j1wYC1Rvln3KQMucL_kkk0cc2Uv8bPH9QfALS8mKymNRkvhyphenhyphenmw5H34E0f16qUZmywA09rng9T9BEsZypJeRXlJu8qJzi5Fe1jHKKnBgLWrSSIQNdwJyoJVC1zzW0XptrYcQAidh7SQV01kEPkR_XcWqUwQsJTiwaIKST9QPh4RaSxbceK37CQ/w640-h360/Woo%20Shine%20Strawberry%20Lemonade%20Moonshine%20(Social).jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div>I don't know where to start with this. The name is a little outrageous, but it's not more outrageous than something like a <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Honky%20Tonk">Honky Tonk</a> or a <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Yee%20Haw">Yee Haw</a>. The image on the front seems to actually depict some drunken person riding a scooter down one of the more infamous parts of Nashville. I don't know if they're trying to encourage this, or if they're simply reflecting reality. The name reminds me of a friend who referred to the women who come to Nashville as part of bachelorette parties as "Woo Girls" because they yell "WOO!" all the time as they drink on the back of what are effectively mobile bars.</div><div><br /></div><div>No one should really expect a <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Moonshine">moonshine</a> to look fantastic, and this doesn't look out of the ordinary. This is as clear as water, but it has the thickness of a <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Liquor">liquor</a>. It unfortunately puts me in mind of some of the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2018/12/ole-smoky-blue-flame-moonshine.html">worse</a> moonshines that I've had, as they tend to not have enough added to them to take away from the moonshine bite and general badness. A friend once told me about proper moonshine that you can get in the mountains, and I said well, if it's better, see if you can get me some. He said that it still wasn't good, but it had a different flavor than the store-bought stuff. I've still never had the not store-bought stuff. Maybe it's just as well. As a side note, as this is a review, the aroma is heavy alcohol, but it definitely smells like strawberry <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Hard%20Lemonade">lemonade</a>. Maybe this will be a winner.</div><div><br /></div><div>First sip is like strawberry lemonade chewing gum - the kind of stuff you can buy in a grocery store in cubes. It's just like that, but it has a bunch of alcohol added to it for burn. Here's the thing, I think that this might actually be working. The alcohol seems to be cut enough to enjoy the flavor, but the alcohol itself is not being bashful. This beer was not brewed in Texas. Instead, this comes from <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Germany">Germany</a>, and it has an appropriately German name. I think I can pronounce the first word, but I'm not going to even guess what the second word is. This is an <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Oktoberfest">Oktoberfest</a>, but obviously I'm going to be drinking this much later than October, or more properly September. It's just as well, as I am still before the drink by date, which is helpfully listed as May of this year. Right now, I'm only in January.</div><div><br /></div><div><div>It's a little lighter than most of the Oktoberfests I've had lately, but it is still the requisite brown. The white head is a nice contrast to the brown, but there isn't going to be any lacing, and it wouldn't be appropriate if there was. I can smell some brown sugar and or maple syrup, but there is not a whole lot of aroma to this beer altogether. I'm virtually sticking my nose in the liquid, and I can't smell anything. As far as I know, I don't have COVID-19, so I should be able to smell something.</div><div><br /></div><div>First sip is so sedate it might be considered bland. While I've come to expect spices and thick malts from Octoberfest, this one is a light brown sugar and maple with not a whole lot of hops or spices going on. This seems to me to be unusual for an Octoberfest, but the Germans should know what they're doing. Maybe I just need to drink this properly. I need to swig.</div><div><br /></div><div>Tip-in is brown sugar and maple, but there is a bitterness that was heretofore unknown. The middle goes down with a smoothness that no previous Oktoberfest has been able to establish, and it is remarkably enjoyable. The finish is where I get some light spices, a little bitterness, and variations on the maple and brown sugar blend.</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtqknVjS94itjvhaMRBtZXddw1G7JLwbYYnJ6lnJbRJbHnZs5WdIuqUX8FNp1NXD_MkUe4nxuICAeSx3JCCpgU1JhfoRIc5TJU2ebIyH33EaBtVHec8XSvsfiq8PAgRx02rnXPqQyxNBfZleFDKazzrcQgIQSlHuGt1BsEVQxKYt6VE8pqMZOLqDzdWUU7/s1567/Hacker%20Pschorr%20Oktoberfest.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="881" data-original-width="1567" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtqknVjS94itjvhaMRBtZXddw1G7JLwbYYnJ6lnJbRJbHnZs5WdIuqUX8FNp1NXD_MkUe4nxuICAeSx3JCCpgU1JhfoRIc5TJU2ebIyH33EaBtVHec8XSvsfiq8PAgRx02rnXPqQyxNBfZleFDKazzrcQgIQSlHuGt1BsEVQxKYt6VE8pqMZOLqDzdWUU7/w640-h360/Hacker%20Pschorr%20Oktoberfest.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div><b><u>Bottom Line</u></b>: This might not be the Oktoberfest you're used to, but maybe it's the one you should be used to.</div><div><br /></div><div><span style="font-size: x-large;">4.0/5</span></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div></div>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-53654213167792901722024-02-16T17:17:00.002-06:002024-02-16T17:17:48.641-06:00Jameson "IPA Edition" Irish Whiskey<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgox0TZFfoSzvDgpOrS-wCm0UJ3vlzZh9cVtr1fzUNNViCOXPfkSdS-gt1milAvAyXpU_6QrcL1pomOVQ8pvCDHAu3sKgnNHicbwSGIG1wRR8Ir3a_ucI53rzxvaesNjzgVCDtG5nHlS4MwAlnIcKcn6D32pSJ638dPNwg08qRpqI3ci5coVtrHv_C9keop/s1567/Jameson%20IPA%20Edition%20Irish%20Whiskey%20(Social).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="881" data-original-width="1567" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgox0TZFfoSzvDgpOrS-wCm0UJ3vlzZh9cVtr1fzUNNViCOXPfkSdS-gt1milAvAyXpU_6QrcL1pomOVQ8pvCDHAu3sKgnNHicbwSGIG1wRR8Ir3a_ucI53rzxvaesNjzgVCDtG5nHlS4MwAlnIcKcn6D32pSJ638dPNwg08qRpqI3ci5coVtrHv_C9keop/w640-h360/Jameson%20IPA%20Edition%20Irish%20Whiskey%20(Social).jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />Okay, assume I have given the usual intro about not really being a <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Liquor">liquor</a> guy, and I'm especially not a <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Whiskey">whiskey</a> guy. I don't even know if I'm supposed to spell it with an "e" or not. From the limited resources that I've consulted on the matter, it appears to be optional. Some people use it, and some people don't. I can't remember if it's like a thing where Ben Franklin decided to simplify spellings when we ditched <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/United%20Kingdom">England</a> or it's more of a cultural thing. <p></p>If anything, I'd say this was a light whiskey color - kind of like if the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2022/05/ole-smoky-peanut-butter-whiskey.html">peanut butter whiskey</a> was a little more brown and maybe a little watered down. This, too, doesn't look as dark as I would normally expect, but I have little to judge from. The aroma is, as you might suspect, whiskey. It smells sweeter than normal, but who knows for sure. I am very familiar with <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/IPA">IPAs</a>, and this doesn't smell of an IPA.<p></p><p>First sip shows very little in terms of an IPA, but it's a pretty nice whiskey, from what I can tell. It's sweet and has a very smooth nature to it that I could probably attribute to the right thing, if I knew anything about whiskey. The burn of the magnificent <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/ABV%2040%25">40% ABV</a> is there, but it's tempered by a smooth something... I'll call it honey for lack of a better descriptor. I think I should be tasting some hops, and I know what a lot of those taste like, but they seem overwhelmed by the whiskey. </p><p><b><u></u></b></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><u><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8S4cN9QxMI9_SZt0DkdfhL2Y9_wTx8wkIJjkWXc_5tJIJb9TMXuEj2GpTA9GIzfGGn-QV8KC0Zqubnshwxzn7Q3Qs9aUw1QQow-Ri4oTmzHOylr9UXnilCGNycMnNF58lMih5YwkSJg1HR0XaUr9MNLOWUMfjgZMOFATzmkrMZERE3mJjL81xeZN1emjF/s1567/Jameson%20IPA%20Edition%20Irish%20Whiskey.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="881" data-original-width="1567" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8S4cN9QxMI9_SZt0DkdfhL2Y9_wTx8wkIJjkWXc_5tJIJb9TMXuEj2GpTA9GIzfGGn-QV8KC0Zqubnshwxzn7Q3Qs9aUw1QQow-Ri4oTmzHOylr9UXnilCGNycMnNF58lMih5YwkSJg1HR0XaUr9MNLOWUMfjgZMOFATzmkrMZERE3mJjL81xeZN1emjF/w640-h360/Jameson%20IPA%20Edition%20Irish%20Whiskey.jpg" width="640" /></a></u></b></div><b><u><br />Bottom Line</u></b>: Better than most.<p></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;">3.25/5</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLw_zEJv9LJP-eN8aV3mwVbLtkjzZsK7uJgyX5mtno7bhYIX7LogGnw1KqL_rULfITORd27IEorFBtV97emXw7BNq0P3XHAFHXigK3XWm3hE1PSeNaTe7TDi6ssfdp6meeHg7G7UNINJpIhDQf2_27AVdX7IqEuqN2I7Dz3z66ALJ298RiIZKdRT7mcWfa/s1007/Capture.PNG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="665" data-original-width="1007" height="264" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLw_zEJv9LJP-eN8aV3mwVbLtkjzZsK7uJgyX5mtno7bhYIX7LogGnw1KqL_rULfITORd27IEorFBtV97emXw7BNq0P3XHAFHXigK3XWm3hE1PSeNaTe7TDi6ssfdp6meeHg7G7UNINJpIhDQf2_27AVdX7IqEuqN2I7Dz3z66ALJ298RiIZKdRT7mcWfa/w400-h264/Capture.PNG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-77270507288054887032024-02-10T22:19:00.000-06:002024-02-10T22:19:26.116-06:00Yazoo "Blanche De Nashville" Wit<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoGNazuwtGH3cZJt-Vd-4KFhwVJHYRjx5l6k4cH_c-1TyEVH1jeVAR80mgsuFFgggao1rxY6_9KsUxBAV6R6zir2dLyXr2NfIbhoegJMULvjRiOtdWdm4sVSMbzZ3w0JDdRdHtSPUS6apHeP0PCUQSBes16DMY7ip38X5F5AFOwLk3inSsZz8bpeqqlvnP/s1567/Yazoo%20Blanche%20De%20Nashville%20Wit%20(Social).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="881" data-original-width="1567" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoGNazuwtGH3cZJt-Vd-4KFhwVJHYRjx5l6k4cH_c-1TyEVH1jeVAR80mgsuFFgggao1rxY6_9KsUxBAV6R6zir2dLyXr2NfIbhoegJMULvjRiOtdWdm4sVSMbzZ3w0JDdRdHtSPUS6apHeP0PCUQSBes16DMY7ip38X5F5AFOwLk3inSsZz8bpeqqlvnP/w640-h360/Yazoo%20Blanche%20De%20Nashville%20Wit%20(Social).jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />I will add the tag for <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Brooklyn">Brooklyn Brewery</a> to this review, as the brewmaster there appears to have assisted in the designing of this beer. Will that make it better? Will the fact that it's an anniversary beer make it better? Well the fact that they decided to name it something that wasn't English make it any better? I don't have a label set aside for a wit, so I'm going to include both the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/White%20Ale">white</a> ale and <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Wheat%20Ale">wheat</a> ale labels. Technically, this is neither of those beers. In fact, it would probably be more appropriate for me to call this a <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Belgian%20Ale">Belgian</a> ale. Nevertheless, I've made choices in life, and the stupid labels on these reviews is one of them.<p></p>The beer pours a clear yellow that is quite pale. What little head erupts then fizzles away relatively quickly, but it leaves a nice ring around the sides with the suggestion that it will leave lacing, but it's not actually going to leave any. The aroma is Belgian yeast, coriander, and wheat. They say that there is orange peel, but I can't smell it over that coriander. Ordinarily, Belgian yeast is a welcomed entry into almost any beer, but it really seems like it's overpowering almost everything else in this one. Mind you, that's just from a sniff.<p></p><p>First sip is very good. The Belgian yeast is mixing with the coriander very well, and the sweet and orange make for a nice backdrop. There's a little bit of a floral nature that comes on after the sip is gone, but the sip itself is gentle, calm, and it does exactly what it should do. As usual, the Belgian yeast is a little strong, and it tends to own whatever room it walks into. I have commented before about the way that <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search?q=brettanomyces">brettanomyces</a> yeast in a beer tends to take the whole thing over, and the hops are a secondary thought (if that) and Belgian yeast is very similar in that respect, but it is smoother and easier to mix with others. It's the difference between concrete and cement.</p><p>Tip-in is yeast upfront with coriander next to it. The middle shoves carbonation to the roof of the mouth, but it's not particularly egregious as the coriander and yeast dance in the middle of the mouth with flowers and orange peels nestled around them. The finish is a quick hit of yeast before orange peels seem to take over everything for the trail off.</p><p><b><u></u></b></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><u><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYWHFMLnAk7fDLC_sP4Z1jqQ8yscokmYltV6ziXnH-zDTeumYwMPt_Ss6sZl2npKNxtuhGZ7duiNEQpjfyMLcxNvWsMp9sHA10FUKnHKZh0vY_m6jHj03G_F-hFKIYmYYqLwifla74XNv98KT79Cx2iRV1ALYbJKO0bWU55SNmoQXcpUpXScOzbhs6BZUN/s1567/Yazoo%20Blanche%20De%20Nashville%20Wit.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="881" data-original-width="1567" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYWHFMLnAk7fDLC_sP4Z1jqQ8yscokmYltV6ziXnH-zDTeumYwMPt_Ss6sZl2npKNxtuhGZ7duiNEQpjfyMLcxNvWsMp9sHA10FUKnHKZh0vY_m6jHj03G_F-hFKIYmYYqLwifla74XNv98KT79Cx2iRV1ALYbJKO0bWU55SNmoQXcpUpXScOzbhs6BZUN/w640-h360/Yazoo%20Blanche%20De%20Nashville%20Wit.jpg" width="640" /></a></u></b></div><b><u><br />Bottom Line</u></b>: Yes, I could drink another.<p></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;">3.25/5</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZEJPnvfefEvlli4PRVSjwATcZ_jCrHiHsXZJ1q-dtXLUGj_fzkaLTjrvH1QpHbQmbjK13k22W3h6z3jru2xJD3OO00hBwctqZdaZINZU2oKj2Fx-Fz78eiXXTEvvglGlMiFuPibPvapVqYZ2g5cSLqgxJ7n5uRea0Ydz-h9p9axo7ZYnoJXUctQ_KXwFK/s1007/Capture.PNG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="665" data-original-width="1007" height="264" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZEJPnvfefEvlli4PRVSjwATcZ_jCrHiHsXZJ1q-dtXLUGj_fzkaLTjrvH1QpHbQmbjK13k22W3h6z3jru2xJD3OO00hBwctqZdaZINZU2oKj2Fx-Fz78eiXXTEvvglGlMiFuPibPvapVqYZ2g5cSLqgxJ7n5uRea0Ydz-h9p9axo7ZYnoJXUctQ_KXwFK/w400-h264/Capture.PNG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-4706760347357301462024-02-09T18:11:00.001-06:002024-02-09T18:11:52.944-06:00Twisted Tea "Raspberry" Iced Tea<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBJzfvBlu9RmmzID8AMp1fU-3VdXE8mzTUyGH9R9gyXW0basJ-fL1xB91thxQ3tvns6Mncl1DPRdtQEeHnqscKg16nKKXHF2bM0GLhr0-jTis00PP26uyd8eGcwkRckHw0B13Pxr2kpvcnwZnNcgKvud2xG-s4pwKSdcaCxneqPDoDfIYo6SiE_ldenagD/s4000/Twisted%20Tea%20Raspberry%20Iced%20Tea%20(Social).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBJzfvBlu9RmmzID8AMp1fU-3VdXE8mzTUyGH9R9gyXW0basJ-fL1xB91thxQ3tvns6Mncl1DPRdtQEeHnqscKg16nKKXHF2bM0GLhr0-jTis00PP26uyd8eGcwkRckHw0B13Pxr2kpvcnwZnNcgKvud2xG-s4pwKSdcaCxneqPDoDfIYo6SiE_ldenagD/w640-h360/Twisted%20Tea%20Raspberry%20Iced%20Tea%20(Social).jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />Raspberry isn't my favorite flavor, but I don't hate it. Good things can be made with raspberry, but these things need to be in moderation. I don't want something that's screaming raspberry at me like the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2023/12/twisted-tea-peach-iced-tea.html">peach tea</a> hit me with peach. I'm much more confident in my peach drinking ability then my raspberry drinking ability. I'm not sure if it's raspberries or me, but it's probably me. In fact, forget I even questioned it. I think I have not mentioned thus far that the lack of carbonation in these Twisted Teas has made them dramatically better in my estimation then many of their competitors. I don't understand why people add carbonation to <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Hard%20Iced%20Tea">hard iced tea</a> or <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Hard%20Lemonade">hard lemonade</a>. They are not intended to be carbonated beverages.<div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div>The beverage pours pretty much as you would expect, and, much like the peach version of this beverage, the raspberry has not imbued the beverage with a considerable change in color. Side by side, I would not be able to tell the difference between this and the regular tea. Well, that is until I took a whiff. This smells of raspberries much like the peach tea smelled of peach. I suppose, if you're going to put a flavor prominently on the label, it should probably be featured in the beverage. It looks like that will be the case with the raspberries. I hope that translates to a nicely balanced tea.</div><div><br /></div><div>The first tip is, indeed, fairly well balanced. There might be a touch too much raspberry, but the tea is coming through pretty well, and the sweetness is not overbearing. This isn't to say that there isn't too much sweetness, as pretty much all of these beverages could tone the sweetness down quite a bit. Nevertheless, tea is often sipped on a back porch down here in the south, and this would sip okay.</div><div><br /></div><div>Tip-in is sweetness, raspberry, and tea. It is those three in that order, and I'm not sure that it shouldn't be the other way around. The middle pulls the raspberry to the front, and the sweetness goes to the middle, but the tea is still the background, and I think it should probably still be more forward. The finish is relatively unremarkable with raspberry stems joining the raspberry that holds on for the trail off with a slight alcohol bend.</div><div><br /></div><div><b><u><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTCEyeFkhlM8ckDNp2PTYQGyOoM8bjQ4pdHFnUcVLzbkVxK_3Kmza4ewg5bK-bKFSIf6nG_kQ_0hwBQYxgjJsgH23kNRMXVA2q9f_uN_pPFokXsg80qsW-W_8_liwB5M0GCdKj8ovKGdEPGuUxFY2UZ2SzZx25pMOeSq4lVai_7dIm3yoxIFdd-W9xrbbT/s4000/Twisted%20Tea%20Raspberry%20Iced%20Tea.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTCEyeFkhlM8ckDNp2PTYQGyOoM8bjQ4pdHFnUcVLzbkVxK_3Kmza4ewg5bK-bKFSIf6nG_kQ_0hwBQYxgjJsgH23kNRMXVA2q9f_uN_pPFokXsg80qsW-W_8_liwB5M0GCdKj8ovKGdEPGuUxFY2UZ2SzZx25pMOeSq4lVai_7dIm3yoxIFdd-W9xrbbT/w640-h360/Twisted%20Tea%20Raspberry%20Iced%20Tea.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />Bottom Line</u></b>: After 3 Twisted Tea beverages, I think they might be the best of the hard iced teas.</div><div><br /></div><div><span style="font-size: x-large;">3.0/5</span></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9TGZHL7JOzmnmxX7lGvK5cwqtXTB2y4w6cM0BEvSUxU-hGygUpA60ft-FrgedbYQAFLkxURT6nyx-Hup80jsYRTRXoAqPrR4r-oUsARWink5SQBBlNDFeYH2yw37N0kHA8WPAUt9Ixdj4HIMpy5oYqzNY7UWKCLQtxoVrTPODBScfY8wvRshqGGO4HwCO/s1008/Capture.PNG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="664" data-original-width="1008" height="264" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9TGZHL7JOzmnmxX7lGvK5cwqtXTB2y4w6cM0BEvSUxU-hGygUpA60ft-FrgedbYQAFLkxURT6nyx-Hup80jsYRTRXoAqPrR4r-oUsARWink5SQBBlNDFeYH2yw37N0kHA8WPAUt9Ixdj4HIMpy5oYqzNY7UWKCLQtxoVrTPODBScfY8wvRshqGGO4HwCO/w400-h264/Capture.PNG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div></div>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-29637986695324259742024-02-08T17:53:00.000-06:002024-02-08T17:53:53.238-06:00Twisted Tea "Peach" Iced Tea.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgt5hFWMmfmWb2rBJQygZ5ah82I0WwUUd5PjxtVN9H8eYh-h0rcs-urfe_kPLfAd0Zb9P1NYNebE1yddQfZEL92x6RulbzS-gQEbd5VoMRR5DZnOaeIMUJEPjWJKN1_51DNSd6cRT8RCUd5LLhz431YX5yAXO9ofeNB0_KJD0RxUB9ELz33lg-cwMFfhkNy/s4000/Twisted%20Tea%20Peach%20Iced%20Tea%20(Social)..jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgt5hFWMmfmWb2rBJQygZ5ah82I0WwUUd5PjxtVN9H8eYh-h0rcs-urfe_kPLfAd0Zb9P1NYNebE1yddQfZEL92x6RulbzS-gQEbd5VoMRR5DZnOaeIMUJEPjWJKN1_51DNSd6cRT8RCUd5LLhz431YX5yAXO9ofeNB0_KJD0RxUB9ELz33lg-cwMFfhkNy/w640-h360/Twisted%20Tea%20Peach%20Iced%20Tea%20(Social)..jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />I'm expecting this <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Hard%20Iced%20Tea">tea</a> to be a little peachy. In fact, it might be very peachy. And that's just peachy with me. I wouldn't say that I would go out of my way to chomp into a peach, but I'm not going to go kicking one out of my beverage. I can't think of too many beers that have peach as a featured flavor, and that's even when they're getting fruit flavor from the hops. Nevertheless, peach is a very <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2023/11/sunrise-lipton-peach-hard-iced-tea.html">common</a> ingredient for tea, and I want this to be uncommonly good.<div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div>Not surprisingly, this looks nearly identical to the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2023/12/twisted-tea-half-and-half-iced-tea.html">last</a> tea I had from Twisted Tea. In fact, I happen to have this sitting right next to another glass of Twisted Tea, the Arnold Palmer version, and I cannot discern a difference. I really wanted this to be slightly peach colored, but it is not colored in any way different than the last, so it is dark tea colored. The aroma, unlike the look, definitely states that there is peach involved. Peach is featured front and center, and I don't have a problem with that.</div><div><br /></div><div>First sip is overly sweet peach tea. Once again, the alcohol is relatively hidden inside the depths of the tea, and I'm not sure if it's just the tea leaves are really good at hiding it or that Twisted Tea is good at mixing the right combination. Either way, I can barely tell that this is an adult beverage from just a sip. As a peach tea, it's not that bad. </div><div><br /></div><div>Tip-in is sweet peach tea that is, for some reason, a lot thicker than I would expect it to be. The middle continues the thickness, but the tea is well balanced between the peach flavor and the flavor coming from the tea leaves. It's possible that the sweetness is coming out a little too much through the center. The finish is peach fuzz and skin laying on top of the tea, and I'm not sure it's the right end to what had previously been a very good beverage.</div><div><br /></div><div><b><u><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFEKJemDYldObUkzfscnwdy_i2TUL0cM4YmE1hjynGZSrT4-f48Cq-snG9fIra7XAZL-K1jBM-mjoGWhUF0dpGSxMtLBKgW6XihRhto39fV1d4euHGxrIQuwHPWwDIbntjudi0lKLYUjRzaLk5f7j_S6zVaXsHv5R-7SVAUUmTX_UWE9c11PsfhfV2MWwT/s4000/Twisted%20Tea%20Peach%20Iced%20Tea..jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFEKJemDYldObUkzfscnwdy_i2TUL0cM4YmE1hjynGZSrT4-f48Cq-snG9fIra7XAZL-K1jBM-mjoGWhUF0dpGSxMtLBKgW6XihRhto39fV1d4euHGxrIQuwHPWwDIbntjudi0lKLYUjRzaLk5f7j_S6zVaXsHv5R-7SVAUUmTX_UWE9c11PsfhfV2MWwT/w640-h360/Twisted%20Tea%20Peach%20Iced%20Tea..jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />Bottom Line</u></b>: Not the tea for me, but not bad.</div><div><br /></div><div><span style="font-size: x-large;">2.5/5</span></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm1HVNLMTafgmhqgHPFwTgzf1qYiQtspVYL-zEePNnYXAEBYAUVJ2UotCipdS8tAZ5lOXwwxT7AKjTXp5fyU5tLcll-htyRG-OX3FGMaXhMblkqTMT-n4tyvEmtTJ1QxoR7uu4karK1SoCs25o_4SpVxSFSAUKa1PAznKYi1zrkbrB6U30jf8_cWZRUBu1/s1009/Capture.PNG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="664" data-original-width="1009" height="264" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm1HVNLMTafgmhqgHPFwTgzf1qYiQtspVYL-zEePNnYXAEBYAUVJ2UotCipdS8tAZ5lOXwwxT7AKjTXp5fyU5tLcll-htyRG-OX3FGMaXhMblkqTMT-n4tyvEmtTJ1QxoR7uu4karK1SoCs25o_4SpVxSFSAUKa1PAznKYi1zrkbrB6U30jf8_cWZRUBu1/w400-h264/Capture.PNG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div></div>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-3445314125647012662024-02-07T16:45:00.000-06:002024-02-07T16:45:10.488-06:00Tennessee Brew Works "King Chestnut" Brown Ale<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-5SVUoCMb145oeBabi3vz6jxj0pklKMyNioIftRakia5OwCPY4T6GFU1NnsLSt55lelnPciU5SB2pRKSOKOV4AGGPfwZ_smzZkZu-AW46pswGHzw7Advk5C2-Hx2NuYAOWcbZDVj-2LOdKWpkqcmd04NAa6Zi3J9pCFkNNHJ5Yc0EFFAb5_8AtFkjWqPr/s1560/Tennessee%20Brew%20Works%20King%20Chestnut%20Brown%20Ale%20(Social).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="878" data-original-width="1560" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-5SVUoCMb145oeBabi3vz6jxj0pklKMyNioIftRakia5OwCPY4T6GFU1NnsLSt55lelnPciU5SB2pRKSOKOV4AGGPfwZ_smzZkZu-AW46pswGHzw7Advk5C2-Hx2NuYAOWcbZDVj-2LOdKWpkqcmd04NAa6Zi3J9pCFkNNHJ5Yc0EFFAb5_8AtFkjWqPr/w640-h360/Tennessee%20Brew%20Works%20King%20Chestnut%20Brown%20Ale%20(Social).jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />TBW is... actually, I don't remember how good they are. I remember that their cans are kind of cool, but they are also kind of bland. At least they are easy to distinguish from each other, and that is something other breweries could learn from. Yes, a can design like Bud or Coors Light is iconic and easily recognizable, but if you want taste in your beer, you shouldn't be relegated to squinting at labels and trying to remember if they were any good. <p></p>"I'll take a <b><span style="color: #783f04;">brown ale</span></b>." Well, I guess you know going in what color it'll be. The off white head is pretty anemic, and it fizzles to a shadow of a ring around probably 1/16th of the sides of the glass. If you look really hard, you can see the barest of dustings on top of the beer kind of huddled in one corner. One thing you won't have an issue detecting is the aroma. It smells of roasted nuts, wood, and (if it's possible) autumn itself. <p></p><p>First sip is pretty nice. The nuts are mixing with some light spices and the malt is kind of... not creamy exactly, but it's like a very light syrup in that it's smooth and silky. It's molasses in taste, but I think the texture is a lot less challenging. The smoked wood is doing a good job of complimenting the nuts, and the whole sip seems like it's making a case for brown ales in general. </p><p>Tip-in is actually pretty dry while being sweet and filling with roasted nuts. The middle continues the dryness as carbonation hits the roof of the mouth and the nuts are joined by brown sugar with the molasses malt coming along. The finish is a much stronger dryness with bitterness in tow to hit the nut husks as the sweetness leaves entirely before the trail off.</p><p><b><u></u></b></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><u><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_MFJujDSKfrvMr3OAyYjF-CJmDXAK_orqgqd-bfMZRTYx0r1opBe6t2h_1QLip59A5zNB3oUK-VAySW3Fi6M6D62MdK3CtPxZJHM6ARiD2UePUcjW3eIzzhf6Yj79-QieVQwtAswKcfcgHW0yhKMCcRBgnmMKmZPQRCrioPbUL09Sd-_yArDy7ZQ11Ch5/s1560/Tennessee%20Brew%20Works%20King%20Chestnut%20Brown%20Ale.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="878" data-original-width="1560" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_MFJujDSKfrvMr3OAyYjF-CJmDXAK_orqgqd-bfMZRTYx0r1opBe6t2h_1QLip59A5zNB3oUK-VAySW3Fi6M6D62MdK3CtPxZJHM6ARiD2UePUcjW3eIzzhf6Yj79-QieVQwtAswKcfcgHW0yhKMCcRBgnmMKmZPQRCrioPbUL09Sd-_yArDy7ZQ11Ch5/w640-h360/Tennessee%20Brew%20Works%20King%20Chestnut%20Brown%20Ale.jpg" width="640" /></a></u></b></div><b><u><br />Bottom Line</u></b>: Pretty good.<p></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;">3.0/5</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDlZ_fXa1eEkvicHebOs4tEbUzXOTLN_i92acQ-SFpvkFpT6zLFvBcX4F338YxCcY6VALv-Tac9ssTQtzIQDKUIYmED30jDMtXji0Zp-Da3QBgbauMV_A7ZLKsPzjCP4-ERjEwISkdKbLpa1Zbe52o-L3J9JBohqBwmVWeb7BL7XsUaCrx73pYnBMmcUWb/s1008/Capture.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="667" data-original-width="1008" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDlZ_fXa1eEkvicHebOs4tEbUzXOTLN_i92acQ-SFpvkFpT6zLFvBcX4F338YxCcY6VALv-Tac9ssTQtzIQDKUIYmED30jDMtXji0Zp-Da3QBgbauMV_A7ZLKsPzjCP4-ERjEwISkdKbLpa1Zbe52o-L3J9JBohqBwmVWeb7BL7XsUaCrx73pYnBMmcUWb/w400-h265/Capture.PNG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3668467488355221789.post-25276131927551511162024-02-06T16:28:00.001-06:002024-02-06T16:28:33.249-06:00Eureka Heights "Mini Boss" IPA<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWZQha51ItPac3GvPzsABjdeUpJaHBAUTRqIQE5ELFnMVAaBXai5MgJd0g2Hax-VpVBZH9hFPQYZ89TPdRtcVfBPWdbj9c5MsylsZnVJKYZB6ZAJTwMekNCIuOyWnt6XY1MMcIbF7vTbzYdAAzMEIEy3orZdUnrS4RhyphenhyphenCFHmvx9Q2RUAlRKUZ2egphOwYN/s4000/Eureka%20Heights%20Mini%20Boss%20IPA%20(Social).jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWZQha51ItPac3GvPzsABjdeUpJaHBAUTRqIQE5ELFnMVAaBXai5MgJd0g2Hax-VpVBZH9hFPQYZ89TPdRtcVfBPWdbj9c5MsylsZnVJKYZB6ZAJTwMekNCIuOyWnt6XY1MMcIbF7vTbzYdAAzMEIEy3orZdUnrS4RhyphenhyphenCFHmvx9Q2RUAlRKUZ2egphOwYN/w640-h360/Eureka%20Heights%20Mini%20Boss%20IPA%20(Social).jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br />Another beer from my beloved brother in <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/Texas">Texas</a>. I pointed out to him once I got this that this is the <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/2024/02/prison-pals-nelson-ipa.html">second</a> beer in my fridge that has an 8-bit character prominently featured on the front. I don't know if this is a new thing that is sweeping the nation, or if it is just coincidence. I have played many 8-bit and 16-bit games in my life, and I think I prefer games that have a little more resolution. I'm not sure that they mean to tell me that the resolution of this beer is going to be particularly subpar. Since the boss itself appears to be a hop, and the mini version of the boss also appears to be a hop, I'm expecting this to be quite the hoppy <a href="https://www.bfbcping.com/search/label/IPA">IPA</a>.<p></p>The golden beer is quite fetching, and it only has a slight haze to it. I was afraid that the head was going to erupt, and instead it is completely manageable and leaves a very nice and complete dusting across the top of the beer with a thick ring around the sides holding up more lacing than I deserve. Even though I have said all this about its appearance, the most noteworthy thing is the aroma. It is pine laced with lots and lots of fruits. Most of them appear to be citrus, but everything about it is mouthwatering.<p></p><p>First sip is exactly what it says it is supposed to be. This has loads of hops, and most of them are fruit, but they are all up front. What is interesting is that they managed to keep the bitterness away. There is no sharp bite on the backend that would normally be expected from something that is so hop forward. I'm not exactly sure what they're doing, and I certainly hope that it is not limited to just the sip. As a sip, this is a very good beer. This may be one of the best beers I've had from Texas.</p><p>Tip-in is moderate carbonation burn with bright fruits all over the place - some of them even bending toward sweetness. The middle is robust with pine joining the fruits, but it isn't detracting in any way; I've come down hard against pine hops in the past, and I think this beer is actually showing what it should be used for. The finish is a bitter twang while sweetness stays on the lips and the caramel malt can finally be tasted.</p><p><b><u></u></b></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><u><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSHoOOu1sFPkWhxGeedo7zKrycV9zF5_kQ2O8Lz5Ig-ERVtTuzisK7Kqvp_cEsRd820aeY21fFfly9iXt-2f-6ii8gPcdonnrUGpepjLRSJxdI3UNavBjz8gwRAwlbHBA0j9QnZL946NuCMSoJmLVqMJ_NoLiEQPmvBUv3VBkBqJ-TgCGwzirP9Ih5_Hq3/s4000/Eureka%20Heights%20Mini%20Boss%20IPA.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2250" data-original-width="4000" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSHoOOu1sFPkWhxGeedo7zKrycV9zF5_kQ2O8Lz5Ig-ERVtTuzisK7Kqvp_cEsRd820aeY21fFfly9iXt-2f-6ii8gPcdonnrUGpepjLRSJxdI3UNavBjz8gwRAwlbHBA0j9QnZL946NuCMSoJmLVqMJ_NoLiEQPmvBUv3VBkBqJ-TgCGwzirP9Ih5_Hq3/w640-h360/Eureka%20Heights%20Mini%20Boss%20IPA.jpg" width="640" /></a></u></b></div><b><u><br />Bottom Line</u></b>: Absolutely tremendous.<p></p><p><span style="font-size: x-large;">5.0/5</span></p><div><br /></div>BFBC-Pinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07573255329079680586noreply@blogger.com
